Definitely a worthwhile read. While I felt that it started slowly, it didn‘t take too long to pull me in. Two strong female characters really drive the story. There are lots of questions that don‘t get answered until close to the end, with plenty of drama and suspense. Plus, I appreciated a different take on the WWII novel. No physics-related pictures. Some day I‘ll have to write a book that matches my photos: The Botanist‘s Wife 😂

AlaMich Are those some sort of berry or are they mutant ladybugs? 13mo
Lynnsoprano @AlaMich it‘s some sort of berry, but I can‘t figure out what it is. Siri thinks it‘s a ladybug, and my plant ID app doesn‘t recognize it, either 🤷‍♀️ 13mo
Marquis784 Check this out: the plant has several “common” names https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/abrus-precatorius/. It is poisonous so definitely not a berry. When I saw the dried “pod” I recognized them as “seeds”. 13mo
Lynnsoprano @Marquis784 Thank you! We were traveling when I took this picture; it‘s not a plant I‘ve seen in South Florida where I live. Most plant ID apps focus on flowers, which is maybe why I couldn‘t get an ID. 13mo
Marquis784 I‘m happy to help clear the mystery! I enjoy gardening and yard work so I often try to familiarize myself with local flora. There is an app where you can post a picture of a plant and other people can help identify it for you! I think it‘s called GrowIt. 12mo

The book I was reading just wasn‘t doing anything for me. I stopped at the library to pick up hubby‘s hold, and brought this home with me. Not sure if I‘m bailing on the other book, but I‘m not waiting to start this.

Justine is such an amazing, well-rounded character. She is tough, intelligent and caring, and I love that she has such a vast knowledge of math and science. I liked the other characters as well; there are so many strong women in this novel. The story itself is well written and I loved the mystery within the pages. I absolutely flew through this novel, wanting to know who Fritz and Mudcat were and if Justine was going to uncover the truth in time.
