Picked up a couple books from the library today. I've been looking forward to this one for awhile.

Those who generalize on the impropriety and unladylikeness of such conduct, are unquestionably in the right, according to the practical parlor standard of life; but they know very little of the vast variety of phases which humanity assumes, or of the strange and wonderful molds which it is forced by Nature and circumstance.

#JubilantJuly Reds, whites and blues. The American Civil War was always my favorite to study pre-college. I say "pre" because I only took one Civil War class during undergrad but then in Grad school I was placed in a group project where we created a fictional Women of the Civil War Special Collections Library. So even though it might not be my "favorite" war anymore, I do find myself coming back to it from time to time. ??????
