Martta Read this years and years ago. This was the rare occasion where the tv version worked better than the book. The tv series was hilarious! 😂 It gave this Veronica decides to die kind of a vibe... 😊 3y

maich @Martta I didn't know that there was series based by book. I just found that all reading this book in slovenia and I wanted to give it a try. And also fit in a few reading challenges. Was series made in Finland? Is available online with english subtitles? 3y
Martta @maich Yes it was made in Finland. I remember watching it on tv when I was a child with my family. I'll check the availability. I've not seen it myself for years and years. Is it popular in Slovenia? I've not realized that Paasilinna has international fame. 😁 3y
Martta @maich I found only versions of the tv adaptation that doesn't have the English subtitles. Sorry. ☹ 3y
maich @Martta He is popular author here. They translated a few books and seeing it all the time (facebook, instagram). People like his books. That's the reason I wanted to try it. In Slovenia are popular Scandinavian authors like Nesbo, Backman, Paasillina, Lackberg, Zander, Knausgard and similar. 3y
Martta That is so fascinating! I didn't know that. He is kind of classic writer here and not at all "hip" right now. 3y
maich @Martta We discovered it a little late. This one released in 2019😊 3y
maich It wasfunny to read. I really enjoyed. 3y
Martta Great to hear! He is a really good writer but he has very Nordic sense of humor and his books are so intimately situated in Finnish culture that I'm a little surprised they work in other countries. That's so great! 😁 3y
maich @Martta reminds me of A Man Called Ove by Backman. I read this one in autumn and both are funny and cosy to read. But totally different. I liked both 3y
