August wrapped. Not the best books this month when Paddington is the only 5-star read!

August Books Wrapped:
I read 4 books for #Bolivia #foodandlit
1 book for #authoramonth
1 book for #campLitsy
1 book for #klbr
And 1 book for #serieslove

I‘m still reading a Llosa book, Bad Girl, that I started in July for #Peru #foodandlit and Dickens‘s Little Dorrit that I started in June for #whattheDickens

Pickpick

More hijinx from the beloved bear, in this the second book in the series. Paddington gets his own room, the grumpy neighbor has reason to be upset with the bear, and Mr Gruber (the antique shop owner) proves to be a good friend of the bear. And Paddington celebrates his first Christmas and his second birthday!

When I get in a reading slump I know exactly who will take me right out of it. So I‘m almost looking forward to my next reading slump!!

These short sweet books give me comfort when work is so busy. So I‘ve moved on to book 2. And Stephen Fry is just the best narrator.

Continuing on my previous review, this is the second Paddington book, which my kids and I moved right onto after finishing the first one. I love Paddington. He‘s a little bit salty, in the best tradition of British children‘s characters. I love how he gives people a “hard stare” when they are not taking him seriously, LOL! Another wholehearted recommendation. Perfect for comfort reading during stressful times, but never treacly.

Paddington was my favourite stuffed animal as a kid (as you can see he is well-loved). The books are from my childhood as well but I never read them. 🙈 Someday!

MsMelissa I love that you still have your Paddington 🥰. I still have a Peter Rabbit stuffy that was given to me when I was born. 5y
merelybookish @Book_Fiend_Melissa It's a dilemma what to do with him. I can't throw him out but I also don't have a spot for him. 🤷 5y

Centique I loved reading Paddington to my kids. A great opportunity to do my terrible approximation of an English accent 😂😂 5y
azulaco Oh my gosh, read them! He‘s hilarious and very sharp! I just started reading Paddington for the first time. I‘m reading with my boys and they love him! 5y
