Nancy Drew 34: The Hidden Window Mystery
Nancy Drew 34: The Hidden Window Mystery | Carolyn Keene
7 posts | 18 read | 1 to read
A magazine article offering a large reward to anyone who can find a missing medieval stained-glass window intrigues Nancy. She asks Bess and George to join her on a search in Charlottesville, Virginia. Before the three friends leave River Heights, their adversary tries to get them to postpone the trip. But no luck. Nancy is determined to carry through her plans. During the girls' investigation of old southern mansions, they encounter a ghost who turns the tables and makes them disappear. Eerie sounds come from a beautiful estate that is surrounded by a high brick wall. Why will the owner allow no one to enter?

Mehso-so

Meh. Not as engaging as other books. I felt like there were too many things going on. Perhaps these plot points were meant to be red herrings but they read like filler.

kezzlou85 @Sace am I too late to join the CYO readathon. I know it started Thursday but though maybe I could gain some extra points for #TeamSlaughter over the last two days. 4y

Vaguely creepy.... 😳🤔

Drnkpnkprincess It‘s a goal of mine to (re)read all the Nancy Drew‘s - I think I only made it to book 20 when I was younger 4y
Sace @Drnkpnkprincess I am slowly making my way through them. 4y

#CYOReadathon and #scarathlon2020 morning started with a walk and making pecan pancakes while listening to an audiobook. I'm about to dive into the deep end of the readathon pool with some #audiocoloring then I'll move on to Nancy Drew. Let the fun begin!

Sace @Clwojick the only thing missing was my homemade apple topping (lazy and no apples in the house.) Had to make do with syrup. 4y

Here's my TBC stack. TBC= To Be Considered because actually saying I will read them feels like too much pressure. 😂

I tried to stick with mystery and detective.

Clwojick Hah! I can definitely relate! I hardly ever stick to my planned reading stacks. I‘m much more a mood reader than a planned reader. It looks like a ton of people will be reading A Christie books! I might have so read some of mine too! 4y
Sace @Clwojick I'm really such a mood reader. Sometimes it makes challenges and games difficult. 4y
rsteve388 I have a copy of the killing flood by Lee Child. Hmm I didn't think of that as a scary book.but maybe it is maybe I can count it. 4y
Sace @rsteve388 I was thinking the detective angle? Oh dear. Now I'm worried it might not count. 4y
rsteve388 The detective angle makes sense .. 4y
Clwojick @Sace if there‘s a detective I would say that still counts as a mystery. 🧡 4y

Poor defaced copy! #33 down for #nancydrewchallenge!

Nancy takes up a search for an old stained-glass window. Along the way she solves three more (related, naturally) mysteries!
