A chilling ghost story from the author of The Woman in Black, set in a crumbling English house...

 pick
pick⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Another wonder speculative fiction novella from Susan Hill. Her themes of embittered women, greed and selfishness are well defined, as well as the naive and “good” man who is “haunted” by these women.

pickWonderfully creepy and disturbing novella. Perfect for October

 so-so
so-soThe creepiest thing about this story was the cover. #screamathon @4thhouseontheleft
It says right on the cover that it's a ghost story, but after finishing it I am not sure why. The writing was good, but I went in expecting a haunting tale and it just wasn't that.

 so-so
so-soI'm not sure why this book has the subtitle "A Ghost Story" as there are no ghosts. This is my first Susan Hill read. Maybe my expectations were too high but I never found this story scary. The portion where the main character is remembering his childhood was the best part and I thought it was going to get very creepy but then it just fizzled for me. #screamathon
