⭐⭐/5... So bad, I had to bail.
So I got called into work AGAIN and had to rethink all my reading plans 😕
This book was informative and fascinating, especially for the casual approach to acts of theft, violence and deception committed by the crew. It was also, however, very dry. There was a lack of any personality beyond the writer's hero worship of 'the general' Francis Drake.

Kay made my day a little brighter. Okay, that sounds as if today was glum, it wasn't. It was just busy and full.
Thank you Kay. My daughter already claimed one of the colouring books and the pen. 😉
I'm really looking forward to reading Sir Francis Drake's story. Thanks for adding those two small books.

Taken from a prayer attributed to Sir Francis Drake, said to be written before he departed from Portsmouth, England, to circumnavigate the globe. It‘s unlikely that it was actually written by Sir Francis Drake, but I like it anyway.
Accounts relating the voyages of Sir Francis Drake and others as they circumnavigated the globe in the 16th century. A bit shocking how he casually describes all the killing, burning, kidnapping, and pillaging going on in addition to all the "discoveries."
