pickThought this was going to be more of a thriller. It‘s really more of a mystery but that‘s fine with me. It became quicker paced towards the end. It made for a good listen. Kate and Lauren are two sisters who have differing views of their parents and the girl who shows up on their parents doorstep claiming she‘s their half sister. There are twists and turns in this book. Trigger warning for an emotionally abusive relationship in the book.
pickI really liked this. It was a nice girly mystery, it did go on some tangents but I did still really enjoy it
My “monthly” reads have turned so chaotic because this is “November”. Ha. I will go back and try and finish the 5 or so I didn‘t, maybe with audiobooks. But for now, I‘m so excited about these!
so-so⭐⭐⭐After enjoying The Other woman by this author I was looking forward to reading another of her books. This one was good not page turning or twisty enough for me. It still held my interest but it's one of those, once you finish it you can't recall it in great detail kind of books. Family secrets...an unknown sister appearing at your door and the people you think you can rely on to never lie to you turn out to be the ones who deceive you the most.
pickI have read Jones‘s other books. In some ways this is a departure and In some ways it fits into her writing niche. Overall I liked the concept and it was really well done. The third person present tense writing took some getting used to, but it also added a certain level of creepiness, especially near the climax. The ending was a bit convoluted but finished well in the end and there were enough clues to wrap it up well. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
pickI loved this book! It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time! I love a book that will keep me guessing and make me wonder what I just read and this book is definitely that! I have to read her other novels because I‘m sure they are just as good as this one! And that ending! 🤯🤯 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟!
This book has been a fabulous companion on a rainy Sunday!!! 100 pages to go.

bailedBailed. Just did not grab my attention at all. This came out June 16 so Im interested to see the reviews on this one.
bailedI was done after about 60℅. Or was it 40℅? I don't remember. All I know is that I couldn't put up with the odious character Kate for a moment longer. She just rubbed me the wrong way. 🤮
pickI really liked that the action of the novel was told through the eyes of multiple characters. The cliffhangers at the end of some of the chapters, along with the little closing comments made by various characters, kept me hooked and turning the page, wanting to know what would happen. I really liked the ending of the novel, but there were other subplots that almost seemed unresolved and forgotten about.
so-soI‘m wondering if the author purposely made all the women in this story self-centered, selfish, and egotistical on purpose—if so then bravo! I really disliked all four of them and only stuck around in hopes of seeing them supremely crushed. Also, I think the ending was supposed to be a shocker but by that time I was just left going “Wait, what? Eh, whatever.” It wasn‘t bad overall but I just really couldn‘t connect with any of the characters.
pickHappy book birthday to The Half Sister by Sandie Jones! I‘ve read all of her novels and this one is my favorite. It‘s a great domestic thriller that shocked me more than once with unexpected twists.
pickAlthough both of Jones‘ earlier novels are languishing in my TBR, I started with this one- a domestic thriller told by two adult sisters. Both married, the women are not close and both are still dealing with their father‘s unexpected death when a younger woman interrupts a Sunday family dinner looking for their father- a man she insists is also her father. Past secrets current dramas converge to make this a quick and fun read! #NetGalley
so-soThis one is a slow burn.. I didn‘t really get into it until almost the halfway mark, and then it was a somewhat foreseeable ending.. try it out in June!

I feel like it‘s taking me forever to get through this ARC 😩! Going to try to work on it at work today while I wait for take outs to come in!
