With no sign of forced entry or struggle, Kim rules her death a tragic suicide. But a visit to Samanthas parents ring alarm bells for Kim theres something theyre not telling her. And, when she spots a clue in a photograph, Kim realises shes made a huge mistake. Samantha didnt take her own life, she was murdered. Then a young mans body is found in a local lake with his throat cut and Kim makes a link between the victim and Samantha. They both spent time at Unity Farm, a retreat for people seeking an alternative way of life. Beneath the retreats cosy faade, Kim and her team uncover a sinister community preying on the emotionally vulnerable. Sending one of her own undercover into Unity Farm is high risk but its Kims only hope if she is to catch a killer someone Kim is convinced the victims knew and trusted. Another good time with my COVID buddy. Was particularly interesting as I‘ve been watching a docuseries about a cult over the last few weeks - The Vow on HBO. Now I only have the “prequel” left until the 13th entry arrives on Nov. 13. ☹️

TrishB Must be time to start a new series then 😁 4y
MicheleinPhilly @TrishB Naturally. ☺️ 4y

So I spent the day in hospital again yesterday (after a day there last week too). They‘re now fairly certain my gall bladder needs to come out, but awaiting scans to see if the stones are causing trouble elsewhere... (apparently I should by rights be as yellow as Bart Simpson!)

Anyway, the good news is I read 2.5 books yesterday! This was the first and, as ever, I loved Kim, her colleagues and their relationships and didn‘t guess whodunit.

Tove_Reads I love Kim ❤️ Hope you feel better soon. Haven‘t been well myself ☹️ 4y
squirrelbrain I do too @Tove_Reads - she‘s supposed to be all bad-ass but she‘s quite lovable really! Hope you feel better soon too 😘 4y

Cinfhen I was just gonna ask how you‘re feeling!!! I‘m so sorry to hear this news. Sending loads of love xxx 4y
squirrelbrain Not as bad today @Cinfhen - but it comes and goes so fingers crossed it will stay that way! Thanks for thinking about me 😘 4y
erzascarletbookgasm Hope the scan shows there‘s no other troubles. Sending positive vibes and ❤️ 4y
BarbaraTheBibliophage That sounds yucky—Mr. B went through a nasty gallbladder infection and removal a few years ago. I wish you smooth decisions and if it comes out, a speedy recovery! 💕 4y
BookwormM Ouch hope they sort you soon 4y
eraderneely Ugh, being in hospital is the worst! Hope you get to feeling better soon!!! 4y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Sorry to hear that. I hope relief comes soon! 4y
Caroline2 Oh no!! I hope they get it out soon so you can get better. You‘ve really been through it!! Sending hugs for a speedy recovery! 💖 (edited) 4y
squirrelbrain @erzascarletbookgasm @BarbaraTheBibliophage @BookwormM @eraderneely @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @Caroline2 - thanks for all your kind wishes. Two not so bad days in a row means I‘m hoping that maybe there‘s no infection. If not I‘ll just join the end of the waiting list for the op.... 4y
Gissy My best wishes your you with positive vibes in your recovery! ❤️❤️❤️ 4y

Tove_Reads @gradcat One of the best series ever! 4y
eanderson That‘s the best! Love this series! 4y
gradcat @Tove_Reads Thanks for the tip! I will definitely try them on!! ♥️ 4y
squirrelbrain Hello Minette! @gradcat Sorry I didn‘t reply yesterday - ended up spending the day in hospital 😕 I‘d been in a lot of pain at the weekend and went to the docs on Tuesday and they called me yesterday am to say I needed to go the hospital. Long story short, they think I‘ve passed a gallstone but I need to go back for more tests next week. Oh, and this series is fab - my favourite! It‘s often cheap on Kindle, in the UK anyway 😘 4y
TrishB Hope you‘re ok Helen! Gallstones are very painful!! 4y
squirrelbrain Still a bit sore @TrishB but not as bad as earlier in the week. Bit wobbly too as I haven‘t eaten much for a few days (I was nil by mouth yesterday in case I needed surgery 😧). Nothing to do but read, I suppose! 😘 4y
TrishB Take care and look after yourself, I had my gall bladder removed in the end. Best thing for me! 😘 4y
squirrelbrain My Mum had hers taken out @TrishB - says it was the worst thing she could have done....🤷‍♀️ Hopefully I‘m not at that stage yet - it‘s been grumbling for a while but it‘s the first time I‘ve passed a stone. Need to look at my diet I think.... 4y
TrishB Weird! It was great for me, but I know everyone‘s different. 4y
gradcat @squirrelbrain Oh, Helen! I‘m so sorry you been poorly. Are you feeling any better, any relief at all? I know how precarious it is to have to go to hospital at this particular time. Please be safe, and be well, my friend... I‘m thinking of you....♥️♥️♥️🥰🥰🥰 4y
rockpools Hi Helen. Hope you‘re having a good weekend and feeling a little better. Best wishes with the tests this week 🌼🌷🌺🌼🌷 4y
squirrelbrain @gradcat - not much better I‘m afraid, still in a lot of pain. I‘m going back to the hospital tomorrow so we‘ll see what they say then....🤞 4y
gradcat @squirrelbrain I‘m so sorry that you‘re in pain, Helen...please, if at all possible, let me know what they diagnose and/or do to help you. Again, so sorry...♥️🤗😘 4y
squirrelbrain Aw bless you @gradcat Minette, for your concern. I‘m sure I‘m just being a bit of a baby 😬, but hopefully might get some answers tomorrow. 😘 4y
gradcat On the contrary, if something hurts, it warrants examination. I‘m sure that the pain you‘re feeling is indicative of something—I only hope you get an answer, and that it‘s fixable. You‘re a sweetheart, Helen...I want you to be well very soon...♥️♥️♥️ 4y
squirrelbrain Definitely sounds like I need my gallbladder out @gradcat - they‘re just checking me out to see if any stones are lurking anywhere else, as my liver function is ‘deranged‘ as they termed it. You‘re so sweet to be concerned and it makes me feel better that you care. 😘 4y
gradcat @squirrelbrain Sorry to keep this chat going for so long, especially considering you‘re not feeling well, but I just can‘t resist: What in heaven‘s name does “deranged liver function” mean? I‘ve never heard of that...I‘m sending you so much love, Helen...I want you better soon...🤗😘♥️ 4y
squirrelbrain No, neither have I @gradcat ! I‘m learning lots of new terms. The doctor also kept saying that the passing of the gallstone was a huge ‘insult‘ to my system and would take time to get over. I guess that‘s because it‘s not an injury but I would use the word incident or event, but ‘insult‘ is a thing in the medical world! 4y
gradcat @squirrelbrain You know what I think? I think you have a pretty poetical doctor! Any news yet? Please keep me posted, Helen...♥️♥️♥️ 4y
squirrelbrain No news yet Minette @gradcat - was supposed to have an MRI at the latest today, but they didn‘t ring me. I shall chase them in the morning.... 4y
gradcat @squirrelbrain Ok, I hope you catch them up. Good luck, and my best wishes for a good result! 🤞🏼🤗😉♥️ 4y

Another great book following Detective Kim Stone and her team. on her search for a killer into a world it‘s hard to believe actually exists. How does jake charm people young and old ? What secrets are held behind the doors of the farm and how does it contain so much power for people to drop contact with family and friends. Sinking into one of Angela Marsons books you know you won‘t be disappointed
