I have a feeling that there are some kind of markers separating passages that are not translating to #audiobook, so I'm gonna bail on the audio and wait for my print copy from the library to come in and see if it grabs me in that format. As it is I'm confused about what I think are jumps in time?

UnabridgedPod Overall, I appreciated all that Thomas does well here--the book could not be more atmospheric, and Ines's detachment emphasizes the overall mood. The suspense builds through the book as Thomas connects Ines's growing recognition of Catherine House's cult-like practices to the reader's understanding. ⠀

The pace was, for me, sleepy at times--I'm more patient than most with a slow build, but this was a bit slow even for me--⬇️ 4y
