@Clwojick is feeding my book challenge addiction! Yesterday she found one on Goodreads that is a reverse A to Z challenge - read a book WITHOUT each letter in the title. To make it more challenging, I am doing this one in alphabetical order (which I decided after I had filled some in, hence the whiteout lol). So I can't continue down the list until I read a book without an E in the title. If you want to join me, use #BackwardsAtoZ & tag me as we⬇️

TheAromaofBooks race through the alphabet! (Maybe I can even complete this challenge multiple times this year?? Who knows!) 4y
LinesUponAPage Oh, sounds fun!! I want to give it a go! Thanks for sharing. 4y
LiteraryinLawrence Cool idea! 4y

ravenlee Sounds challenging. Dracula, maybe? 4y
Clwojick Hahaha! The challenge addiction is real! 4y
TheAromaofBooks @Lifeisasnap - as you can see, I retroactively used titles I have already read this year, so if you want to start with whatever you read first in 2020 and work from there, feel free. (Obviously, feel free to do it however you want haha there are no real rules in this lawless challenge!) 4y
TheAromaofBooks @Clwojick - I'm having SO MUCH FUN with challenges! 4y

Pickpick

I've been reading this series off and on for months, but this is the last one I own, so the end for now! Judy is, as always, a likable protagonist, and I'm a bit sorry to see the end of these books.

Finishing this book put me at 6hrs14mins fo #JumpStart2020 (and 3rd book completed). It's Pennsylvania for #ReadtheUSA2020 & #SeparatedbyaPondTour (that I've unofficially joined haha), as well as #FinishinaDay for #Booked2020 AND S for #LitsyAtoZ !!

phatsallylee Wow! One book so many prompts! 4y
TheAromaofBooks @phatsallylee - I think early in the year it will be easy to fill in multiple prompts with one book, because basically none of them have been completed yet... I probably won't have as much luck quadruple dipping in, say, July! 😁 4y

Lizpixie Well done!👏👏👏 4y
Andrew65 It‘s great to have you with us, and I‘m making it official 😂 The latest Payne and Jones book is likely to take me to Pennsylvania, tend to be global books but home base is in Pittsburgh. It‘s sat on my bedside table waiting. (edited) 4y
TheAromaofBooks @Lizpixie - thank you!! 4y
TheAromaofBooks @Andrew65 - I anticipate it taking me a couple of years to complete the tour, but I do genuinely love maps, and I have read so many books set in the UK that I'm looking forward to paying more attention to where they actually are!! Pittsburgh is about 3hrs from here - lovely city, but a nightmare to navigate. We definitely got trapped on the wrong side of a river last time we were there! 😆 4y
alisiakae You‘re a #promptQueen today! 🙌🏽😄 That‘s one of the fun parts of January, an empty slate on all the challenges. 4y
Andrew65 @TheAromaofBooks Think it‘ll most probably take me the same time frame too. I‘m look forward to exploring the US more through these challenges - need to extend my knowledge. Pittsburgh does sound a nightmare! 4y
mabell I have the Judy Bolton series! I had collected a few here and there from thrift/antique shops, and one Christmas my parents surprised me with the whole set! It‘s been at least 15 years since I‘ve read one. I‘ll have to get those out! I don‘t remember very much about her story now. 😬 4y
TheAromaofBooks @Andrew65 - rivers and tunnels everywhere! 😲 4y
TheAromaofBooks @mabell - I used to come across them pretty regularly in thrift/antique stores, but never seem to find them any more! I have the majority of the collection (books 1-30, and then this one, #33). I was thinking about buying them one at a time for the rest, but they run around $15/ea, and I'm just not sure I can justify that just to complete my collection!! For some reason the later ones in the series are much harder to find than the earlier ones. 4y
TheAromaofBooks @mabell - anyway, they are pretty fun. I first started collecting them because even though they were Nancy Drew-ish, the characters actually moved through time, got married, moved around, did things with their lives, which felt so much more realistic to me! After this reread: still in love with Peter. 😁 4y
TheAromaofBooks @4thhouseontheleft - right?? January is making me feel super accomplished! 😁 4y
mabell Oh my! I didn‘t remember there being so many! My set is residing at my parents (my house will only hold so many books and allow us to live here as well 😆) I will have to check and see how many I have - I may not have all of them. I experienced the same thing with Trixie Beldens. The later ones are very hard to find! 4y
mabell And now I remember a little about how the story grew! Very different from Nancy Drew, you‘re right. I will have to bring back a few and jump back in! 4y
BookishMarginalia I loved Trixie Belden! 4y
TheAromaofBooks @mabell - Ohno, it sounds like you need a bigger house! 😁 The last time we moved my family said it was literally the LAST TIME they were helping me move, because everyone is over carrying my books around (even me haha) (although moving six times in five years was a bit much). Anyway, YES Trixie Belden is definitely the same way. I have a bunch of those as well, but, like you, have had trouble getting a hold of the newer ones. My sister & I ⬇ 4y
TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) were just saying the other day how we had a crush on Mart when we read those books back in the day. 😍 Really want to get around to a reread of those. Also, really need a BFF who is super nice, really rich, has horses, & lets me date her brother. 😆 @BookishMarginalia - I meant to tag you at the beginning of the first comment, whoops. Yes, so much Trixie Belden love!! 4y
Linsy Pretty pic! 4y
TheAromaofBooks @Linsy - thank you!! We have a giant wall map, so it seems appropriate for the background for some of my #ReadtheUSA2020 books!! 4y

Well this week's #bookreport didn't follow last week's forecast at all! I did finish Northern Lights & read The Storm Keeper's Island. But then I decided to read The Man in the Brown Suit for #agathachristieclubr2 . I had also kind of forgotten that I had an ARC to read (Off Balance) & wanted to read the first book before I read that (Off Planet). I just wasn't in the mood for The Starless Sea & it had to go back to the library. I'm reading ⬇

TheAromaofBooks The Secret Quest right now & there is a good chance I'll finish it today. Then I actually do need to figure out what I'm reading next week, because I have a lot of January commitments to stay on top of!! Also have to say that I really love doing the forecast/book report because it's fun to see where my reading actually takes me from week to week!

Cinfhen I was off course this week too but still managed to read a good amount! 4y
TheAromaofBooks @Cinfhen - I always seem to read, it's just intriguing to see what weeks I read on schedule and what weeks go completely off road! 😁 4y
