Love. This. Book. Muir is 1 year away from aging out of the foster care system which she has been in her entire life. She‘ll make it if she stays out of trouble & doesn‘t form any attachments—no friends, no family, & just what she can carry in a single suitcase—but friends & family & belonging sometimes have a way of finding those who aren‘t looking for it. Compassionate, hopeful, & inspiring story about the hopes & dreams of kids in foster care.

Another YA book to preview for the library. This one is about a seventeen-year-old girl living in foster care. She‘s one year away from aging out of the system. All she has to do is keep her head down, avoid attachments, and anything else that could get in her way. That‘s the plan...what could go wrong?

On a side note, I love this gorgeous cover!

I am just in love with this cover and the story was just as beautiful! This book gave me all the feels. Growing up in foster care Muir hasn‘t made any connections with anyone it is easier that way. Until she is moved to her last foster house everything changes. She makes friends and starts to care about everything. It breaks my heart that people grow up this way. We need to do better and find a better system for them to grow up in!

Butterfinger The cover is gorgeous. 1mo

Between a really bad headache and trying to get ready for an accreditation what we are getting at the school I teach I haven't had time to post day 7 of #7days7covers

Sace Headache and accreditation sounds like hell. I hope both end soon. 5mo
Lovesbooks87 @RestlessFickleBookHoarder the headache is gone thank goodness. The accreditation progress isn't. Just more and more stuff being added that needs to be done. 5mo
Sace I know how that goes! Our system had a double whammy...accreditation AND state intervention. And we still only have provisional accreditation pending another review. Fun! 5mo

kspenmoll We are just starting our state accreditation process this year again. I get it!!! 5mo
Lovesbooks87 @kspenmoll it's awful every time I turn around we need to add something else to the classroom. The people aren't coming until after Nov. the 1st so I can only imagine what else I'll be thrown at us over the next month! 5mo
