When a key witness in an organized crime trial turns up dead in his kitchen with liar and the number two scrawled on his forehead, the FBI assumes the murder was a hit to silence him. Then the calls start coming in-more victims with similar markings and no connection to the mob. As agents Victoria Heslin and Dante Rivera struggle to catch a break in the case, they receive a series of cryptic, personal messages from the killer, complicating the investigation. Something disturbing and frightening is underway, and anyone might be next, including the agents, unless they uncover the common denominator.

In book 2 of the series, Agent Victoria Heslin is called in to consult on a missing person's case in Charlotte by her boss. In the course of her investigation, she comes across a large sex trafficking ring, the 2nd theme which runs parallel with the missing person. I really enjoyed this book & can't wait for the next one! I received this as an ARC.

The Numbers Killer was a great, fast paced read! Instead of having you seek out the murderer, you are given this information right at the beginning. You could think that would make for a boring read, it is a thriller after all. Multiple murders help too, allowing for minor characters to drop clues for our agents to figure out.

I received this book as an ARC & all opinions are mine.
