Goodreads seems to think I've read it before but I honestly didnt remember it! 😬

Regardless, I really enjoyed this book of poems, and maybe its because I understand poetry better now than I did in 2019.

They were dark, mournful and full of vivid imagery.

A good little book!

Not ver far in but I‘m loving these poems so far! Can‘t believe this is my first Brontë book?

April went a little smoother; finished 3 and started on another 4. Now to pick my reads for the next two months 😅

The imagery was beautiful but the subject matter is very dark. A lot of the poems seem to revolve around the theme of death, dying and the fickleness of life, so it's quite a heavy read despite how short it is. I think my favourite was Sympathy, which is one of the less dark poems, because it was short but utterly beautiful to read!

This afternoon, instead of working, and trust me I've got plenty to do, I've read this little book of selected poems by Emily Brontë. I enjoyed these poems about the cycle of life, death, time passing, and nature. I know that not much is known about Emily Brontë's life, and I wish it was different, since it would certainly help to have insights into what inspired her poems.

I knew @rohit-sawant said he would send me 20th Century Ghosts, but then came this package of wonderfulness!! Such thoughtfully selected goodies. Gosh, thank you so much Rohit! I love everything and you're so kind to include two movies I'm dying to watch, that adorable notebook and Mumbai magnet, plus Emily ? And those "batsy" bookmarks? I have no idea how you got that but that just made my day!! I love them ? Thank you so much, friend! ?

Haunting, passionate verses on death, love, time. Fans of Wuthering Heights and gothic literature would probably enjoy these poems.
