The Paradise Snare: Star Wars Legends (The Han Solo Trilogy)
The Paradise Snare: Star Wars Legends (The Han Solo Trilogy) | A.C. Crispin
13 posts | 24 read | 2 to read
Here is the first book in the blockbuster trilogy that chronicles the never-before-told story of the young Han Solo. Set before the Star Wars movie adventures, these books chronicle the coming-of-age of the galaxy's most famous con man, smuggler, and thief. The first book in this exciting Han Solo series begins with a recounting of Han's late teen years and shows us how he escaped an unhappy adopted home situation to carve out an adventurous new life for himself as a pilot. Han Solo, the handsome rogue, is every girl's dream man, and every boy's hero. Features a bonus section following the novel that includes a primer on the Star Wars expanded universe, and over half a dozen excerpts from some of the most popular Star Wars books of the last thirty years!

Still catching up on #StarWarsBuddyRead books. This is the first in the Han Solo trilogy. Although Han is probably my favorite character, this was a little underwhelming. There were some action packed scenes, but overall it was a bit slow. I‘ll continue with the trilogy to finish getting Han‘s backstory.

1st finish for October‘s #20in4 and a #SeriesLove2023 finish.

BookwormAHN The next two are better 🧡 6mo

This is one of the legends novels that Disney discarded in favor of their new cannon. It tells the story of a young Han Solo trying to make his way to the navel academy and the adventures/chaos leading up. There are cults, damsels in distress, large hairy beasts, gun fights, and lots of dangerous flying; the usual for Han 🚀

SpeculativeFemale Thanks for the reminder! I have some more of the older “Legends“ books I picked up secondhand several years ago and haven't gotten around to yet. 10mo

📚📚📚📚 Returning to the origins of Han Solo was nice and the story overall had solid bones. The writing itself was a bit blocky/chunky but I put that to style preference of the time. In general, a quick read about our favorite scoundrel becoming a scoundrel 😁 #starwarsbuddyread

I liked the beginning and the end. And of course I totally fell for Muuurgh😸 The book as a whole seemed a bit unfocused and of course one could tell that it was published a couple of years ago. Otherwise Bria would've been more than just the damsel in distress. But it was nice to learn so much more about Han.

BookwormAHN I'm still reading it, but I'm also enjoying learning more about a young Han. 11mo

repost for @BookwormAHN:

This month, we head back to the Legends series (i.e. before Disney) with the first of the Han Solo Trilogy, The Paradise Snare.
As always if anyone wants to be added or removed just let me know. And May the Force Be With You 🚀

In April, we met up with Lando & Luke, who were trying to save a family & face off with a sith. This was an interesting book, although rather tragic as well. How did everyone enjoy it?

I got an overdue notice on some comic books and the novel I'm almost done with... renewed those, started a Star Wars novel since I have more time now... swung by the library to pay my 80 cent fine, picked up the next issue of Descender I had on hold, plus found the next issue of Saga (they didn't have it available at ANY connected library when i looked online!!!) and Persepolis 2. :) I think I have a problem.

Solid SW EU entry centered around Han Solo‘s origin. Very original plot, good writing and character development, nice pacing. Only complaint is it drags a tad at the end but definitely worth picking up.

Everyone's favorite space hustler has some pretty fantastic adventures in this trilogy by #ACCrispen. I found solace in these after being brutally ruined by Episode 7.

"Rebellions are built on hope" Now I know that this quote isn't from this book, rather it's from the newest Star Wars movie, "Rogue One". I have finally finished my Star Wars education, and I can now say that I am obsessed. I can tell because I'm illustrating quotes :)
