Hard As You Can
Hard As You Can: A Hard Ink Novel | Laura Kaye
11 posts | 18 read | 5 to read
Five dishonored soldiers. Former Special Forces. One last mission. These are the men of Hard Ink. Ever since hard-bodied, drop-dead-charming Shane McCallan strolled into the dance club where Crystal Dean works, he's shown a knack for getting beneath her defenses. For her little sister's sake, Crystal can't get too close. Until her job and Shane's mission intersect, and he reveals talents that go deeper than she could have guessed. Shane would never turn his back on a friend in need, especially a former Special Forces teammate running a dangerous, off-the-books operation. Nor can he walk away from Crystal. The gorgeous waitress is hiding secrets she doesn't want him to uncover. Too bad. He's exactly the man she needs to protect her sister, her life, and her heart. All he has to do is convince her that when something feels this good, you hold on as hard as you canand never let go.

This is the 2nd book of the Hard Ink series. Lots of action kept me on the edge of my seat and a slow burn romance that made my toes curl. Enjoying this series a lot. Can wait to see how it all plays out. 4⭐️

Nonstop action, a bit slow burn and still more mystery to solve. #romance #romantsy

I ❤️ Shane. The re-read stood the test of time, it was just as good the second time around. And Laura Kaye has the timeline nailed down so good, each book rolls seamlessly into the next. This is one exhausted bunch of guys, as there‘s never a dull moment. #hardink #romantsy @CoverToCoverGirl @theresidentromantic

CoverToCoverGirl Loving Easy‘s and Jenna‘s story .. all the feels and so far just as good as the first time I read it... love these guys and gals! ❤️❤️😎 6y

@CoverToCoverGirl I partied a little too hard last night but I‘m up now and diving into our #buddyread! Ive amended my to do list for today so I can mostly just read and write (and really just mostly read). Pretty excited to get back to our #romantsybuddyreading #readathon

CoverToCoverGirl Total awesomeness... 😎😊 Hope you don‘t feel under the weather too badly after partying last. Were the bands good? .. and yes I always enjoy our buddy reads. (edited) 6y
CocoReads No, it‘s mostly that my throat is sore from singing and yelling and I did more rocking out than usual (darn that run!) so I‘m sore from throwing my body around. I keep forgetting that I‘m old now and that hurts! The bands were fantastic—we‘d seen 3/5 of them and 2 of the guys in the headliner are friends so whenever they make it here I always try to see them. 6y
CoverToCoverGirl Ha.. over exertion does that to us as we age, I sometimes forget how old I‘m getting too! You have some interesting friends. 😎 6y
CocoReads Friends might be too strong of a term but we‘ve gone to so many of their shows over the last several years, it seems that way. The first time we traveled to see them, they were so funny because they remembered and recognized where we usually see them at and I think for guys that are on the road 300 days a year, that‘s something. 6y

I'm reading through this series like it's my job! (Hint: it's not lol) These books are so cute, they give me all the warm fuzzies. They also pick up one right after the other, no breaks. It's a little like one book, told from all the different perspectives on the apartment as each guy airs his issues and emotions with being out of the army. So heartfelt, but you definitely need to read this series from book one. #romantsy

CrowCAH Seeing the cover reminds me of one of my local #MittenLitten Greater Detroit RWA ladies‘ books: 6y
theresidentromantic @CrowCAH added to my TBR! That seems interesting. I love this angle of books where tattoo artists are badasses. All the tattoo artists I'm aware of are just art nerds lolol 6y

The universe giveth and the universe taketh, I suppose. I fell down my back stairs this morning and ruined my beautiful, brand new running jacket! And I'm so careful with everything! But the library gave me my book back. Happy Hump Day? Sigh.

LibrarianJen I read the first two in this series a while back but the next one wasn‘t published at the time so I forgot all about it. Maybe I should revisit the series. I remember liking this one. 6y
LibrarianJen Also, I hope your back is ok and total bummer about your jacket. 😢 6y
julesG Hope you are okay after your fall. As for the jacket, you could try to mend it. It doesn't look like a huge tear. There's 'visible mending', too. 6y

theresidentromantic @LibrarianJen I read the spin off series first and am now reading these, so I'm a little backwards but they're so sweet. All the warm fuzzies! I'm ok, thank you for asking. Just a little banged up and grateful I didn't hit my head! 6y
theresidentromantic @julesG I'm going to try and sew it later, but it's made of that stretchy exercise fabric, I'm not sure how well it'll repair. I hope it works! Thanks for your well wishes :) 6y
LiteraryinLawrence I‘m glad you didn‘t get too banged up during the fall! 6y
knittedgnome Ouch!! I would try fabric glue for the hole. Be sure you get all the knit loops. That fabric is so hard to sewn 6y
Jas16 Hope that you are ok. 6y
cobwebmoth Aw, hope you're okay. 6y
theresidentromantic @knittedgnome That's an absolutely brilliant idea! Thank you, I'll get some after work. @jas16 @cobwebmoth I'm alright, I'll take what Wednesday has to dish out! Thanks for asking ❤ 6y
CouronneDhiver Oh no! 😕 6y
julesG You could ask in a shop selling sports clothes for a repair kit. Sometimes they offer this stretchy yarn/thread for small repairs. Or a shop that sells paramedical (???) articles, like compression stockings, they sometimes have thread for darning. (and now I'll be silent, before anyone thinks I'm 83 rather than 38) 6y
theresidentromantic @julesG Thank you! That's a good idea too! If my compression gloves ripped, I don't know what I would do to repair those either! And having a brain full of helpfulness doesn't make you old 😙 6y
ReadZenRites I‘m glad to read that you‘re not hurt! ❤️ Falling down the stairs can be serious, even when you‘re still young enough to have a ‘noggin full of useful facts 😉😊 Hope your new book takes your mind off it! 🍭💕 6y
