Seeds of Hope
Seeds of Hope: Wisdom and Wonder from the World of Plants | Jane Goodall
6 posts | 6 read | 5 to read
In this wise and elegant New York Times bestseller, Jane Goodall examines the critical role that trees and plants play in our world. SEEDS OF HOPE takes us from Goodall's home in England to her home-away-from-home in Africa, deep inside the Gombe forest, where she and the chimpanzees are enchanted by the fig and plum trees they encounter. She introduces us to botanists around the world, as well as places where hope for plants can be found, such as The Millennium Seed Bank. She shows us the secret world of plants with all their mysteries and potential for healing our bodies as well as Planet Earth. Looking at the world as an adventurer, scientist, and devotee of sustainable foods and gardening--and setting forth simple goals we can all take to protect the plants around us--Goodall delivers an enlightening story of the wonders we can find in our own backyards.

Pickpick

I bought this book years ago before seeing Dame Jane Goodall speak at my university. I love the pages which are the perfect color, the print is wonderful and the content exactly what she feels and is just lovely. It took me years to finish and not because the book was dull, but because I didn‘t want it to end. But end it has and it will bring me joy sitting on my shelf next to her other books.

#WomanCrushWednesday I'm a little late to the game with this, I know, but I just had to jump in. My woman crush right now is Jane Goodall--what an amazing woman and inspiration!

stargazerblue49 The most recent Science Brunch podcast was about her! I had not known much about her previously and was astonished! 8y
readinginthedark @stargazerblue49 Ooh, Science Brunch? I hadn't heard of that one, thanks! And yeah, she's amazing. She was also on the Private Passions BBC podcast, which is about music and its significance in our lives. 8y
