Emma has just learned that her mother is a long-lost Poseidon princess, and now struggles with an identity crisis: As a Half-Breed, she's a freak in the human world and an abomination in the Syrena realm. Syrena law states all Half-Breeds should be put to death. As if that's not bad enough, her mother's reappearance in the Syrena world turns the two kingdomsPoseidon and Tritonagainst one another. Which leaves Emma with a decision to make: Should she comply with Galen's request to keep herself safe and just hope for the best? Or should she risk it all and reveal herselfand her Giftto save a people she's never known?Once again, Anna Banks infuses Emma and Galen's points of view with humor, intrigue, and waves of romance.

I finally coaxed myself into finishing Of Triton last night! It was an ok young adult series about mermaids. I‘m really not a fan of the whole soulmates but the main character hasn‘t finished high school plot line. What‘s wrong with having a character who‘s in college instead? Some plot choices I didn‘t agree with as well. I‘m not going to read the last book in the series, since it seems unnecessary.

LeafingThroughLife I ended up skipping the third book, too. I read about 50 pages before also determining that it was unnecessary. 2y
RosePressedPages @LeafingThroughLife I‘m glad I‘m not the only one! 2y

Tore through books 1 and 2 of this series this week. There‘s a bit of cheesiness and a lot of unbelievability to this YA story of a girl who finds love and finds out she‘s part mermaid, but I have to admit it‘s nice to read something that is a real page turner. Definitely some fun, guilty pleasure stuff going on here, but I have no regrets. The only question is should I dive right into the final book in the series or come up for air? 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

AlaMich Seems like being part 🧜‍♀️ would be a hard thing not to notice about yourself? 😂 3y
LeafingThroughLife @AlaMich Right? See exhibit A: unbelievability 🤣 3y

I enjoyed Of Triton as much as the first book of the Syrena Legacy series. It is a fun easy read for the summer. Mermaids or Syrena in this case make you want to go see the ocean and all of its wonders. I think Galen and Emma are sweet together. I did get a bit sad about an event at the end but don't want to spoil that here. Luckily there is another book of this series.

Finished up one book journal today, but excited to start writing in my new one!! 🖤 Book journaling has been by far the best way for me to remember my books. I love my apps, but there‘s nothing like hand writing about each book!

jb72 I have always wanted to book journal. I even bought a nice journal to try it out this year, but haven‘t yet. 6y

Great second book in the series. The author wrapped up a lot of the main story issues so I'm curious to see where things lead in the third book. A few times the YA romance intensity was a bit much for me but otherwise very well written and paced. I was feeling it was a tad predicable towards the end and then the author threw a surprise in there which I was pleased with.
