This wasn‘t as good as the first book, but still a fast, entertaining read.

For the #LittensDressedinBlood ghosthunter prompt. I'm not sure if they're hunting ghosts or running from them, but the following part of the blurb is what convinced me to read these: "Northwood's ancient halls are haunted by the family's long-dead ancestors. The malevolent spirits--produced by grisly deaths--resent her intrusion into their home."

Almost a so-so, but the awesome haunted house tipped it to a pick. This is one of those sequels that doesn‘t stand alone, and I think I liked book one just a bit more.

• [I accidentally tagged the wrong book, should be House of Salt and Sorrows!] Highmoor and the Saltaan Islands sound so magical
• yesterday was humid and 28 degrees in preparation for thunderstorms, so today is 22 and sunny!
• we went for drinks and he talked about his very sexist novel the whole time and then asked for writing advice 😬
• no kids, no pets!

I had to read this line several times because I love it so much! 🖤
I very much enjoyed this duology! So far this author can do no wrong! I‘ve thoroughly enjoyed the stories she tells. Her writing style is so fluid that you have no trouble falling into the story and quickly lose track of time.
This was a good follow up to House of Shadows. I liked the story better in the first book but was still quite invested in this one. This one was a bit more predictable as well. Super fun on audio!
