I selected this one for my #readhawaii challenge. I personally loved this one but I‘m a total fan of a good romance. This is set in November 1941 and the storyline runs through the bombing of Pearl Harbor. This is as much a story of friendship and female resilience as a romance. #romantsy

WWII fiction is already a favorite of mine & even better when set here in Hawaii. Ackerman's second book focuses on Eve, a nurse, escaping her past in Michigan by sailing to Hawaii for an Army Corps post at Trippler Hospital on Oahu in the days before the attack on Pearl Harbor. The author does a fantastic job illustrating the dichotomy of the beauty of the island & the ugliness of war. Romance, history & intrigue. Giving a copy away, details👇🏻

Max 🐱& I are settled in all cozy on a rainy night with one of my current reads for a blog book tour review next week. I do love Hawaii-set WWII stories & really enjoyed the author's first book & so far, so good on this one. Max says there are no cats & no ahi 🐟 so he isn't a fan, but I told him we are still on the SS Lurline headed for Hawaii so maybe there will be 🐱& 🐟 later on in the book. I don't think he's buying it. 🤣 #catsoflitsy 😽❤️
