From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Beautiful Disaster As Darby Dixon sits in a tiny Texas church bathroom on her wedding day holding a positive pregnancy test, she realizes that marrying her fianc would be the worst decision of her life. She's never been very good at standing up for herself, but she'll sure as hell stand up for her baby. With very little cash and a ton of courage, she flees town to take a new name and start a new life. As a Marine, Scott "Trex" Trexler worked in the most treacherous, corrupt, war-torn places on earth. With his new top-secret security job, he finally has a chance to return to the one place he's felt at peace: Colorado Springs, Colorado. The moment Trex checks in at the hotel where she's working, Darby knows he's dangerous. He may want her to think he's another hotshot firefighter, along with all the others battling the nearby mountain blaze, but something doesn't add up. No way will she get involved with another man she can't fully trust - and Trex clearly isn't telling her everything. As Darby's ex gets closer and closer to finding her, both she and Trex will soon find out that what you don't know can hurt you. "Jamie McGuire writes with no holds barred ... real and addictive." -USA Today

Apparently I'm in the mood for angsty romances this month? This was another one that reay wasn't great, but a quick easy read. I read it in a day while I was supposed to be cleaning the house, so apparently I liked it enough to be thoroughly distracted! 🤣

Yes yes yes! I‘ve loved McGuire‘s “Beautiful” series, and this book I will rank right up there with them. This isn‘t technically part of that series, but it does have a sprinkle of some Maddox bros in there. Trex doesn‘t quite make it to Travis Maddox level of book boyfriends imo, but he‘s pretty good. I listened to this on audio and it has both M and F narrators and the male narrator was actually not cringey 👌🏽 #romance #romantsy

Darby is in a abusive relationship. On her wedding day she finds out she is pregnant and decides to run away from her abusive fiancé.

I enjoy this authors writing since I first read her first series back in 2011. This book didn‘t disappoint and hit all the romance pints for me.

I loved how the story included characters from other stories. I liked seeing more of their life outside of their own story.

1- these two, beer, and nature.
2- two, the one tagged and I See You by Claire Mackintosh.
3- I miss the mountains and snow.
4- yeah right now I‘m on a ban minus the ones I preordered.
5- ugh that‘s hard but I‘d take the 1 million dollars so I can pay off school loans and technically I could still *listen* to audiobooks lol.

There was so much I loved about this story from the characters to the romance to the suspense, one thing I didn‘t love was a point in the ending where a decision was made that I was like, “are you serious?” but that comes down to it being a personal choice. I just feel that honesty is always the best policy. Overall it was a fantastic read that had me from page one! Full review at www.thegenreminx.com #bookreviewer #TheGenreMinxBookReviews

A gorgeous graphic novel that examines the passage of time by focusing on a single place over the course of millennia. There are very few words and almost no narrative. I found it poignant as I navigate middle age.

RaimeyGallant Are you following @LitsyGetsGraphic yet? 6y
Lindy This looks great. Reminds me of a book by an author with the same surname, so I must investigate if they are related: 6y
