Found at my local goodwill. I so rarely see his books loose in the wild. One of my all time favorites is The City of Dreaming Books. I did not enjoy the sequel The Labyrinth of Dreaming books nearly as much though. It will be interesting to see what I think of this one.

InLibrisVeritas @LazyDays They are! I just found Labyrinth a month ago. City of Dreaming Books is my favorite of all of them and the first one I read. 6y

@Linsy #CoolBooks

Rumo can choose a weapon and takes a #sword that can talk to him telepathically. Things get even weirder when a second, bloodthirstier voice awakes in the sword.
In the picture on the right you can see that both voices have different fonts in the print.

Linsy I love that! 6y

I haven't even attempted to keep up with the #ReadJanuary photo challenge, but I have been watching. And at the #endpapers prompt I felt the acute need to show you all the endpaper (and frontpaper, I suppose) maps from Rumo's adventures, and the swirling chaos that is my complete Lovecraft stories.

Brenley Love Walter Moers! Rumo was one of the first that got me hooked! 7y
Leniverse @Brenley We found it in a bookstore and bought it based on the cover and illustrations alone. When we read it we loved it for the story and characters as well. Oddly enough we don't have any of the others. If I saw one in a bookstore I'd buy it right away, but somehow I have never ordered one online. 🤔 7y
Brenley @Leniverse I HIGHLY recommend The City of Dreaming Books and The Alchemaster's Apprentice. Same type of illustrations and whimsical story. Since he is a German author, I've found it harder to find his books in the states. 7y
Leniverse @Brenley Thanks! I'm in the UK so they shouldn't be that hard to find here. Or I could brush up on my German... A few years of hard, dedicated study and I might get there. 😂 7y

#Booktober #GreatOpeningLines This looks like a children's book, but it really isn't. It's illustrated craziness for grown ups who have retained the wild imagination of their childhood. @RealLifeReading

Boghunden Aww that sounds so good! 8y

This book takes you back to Zamonia, the world of Capt Bluebear to follow the adventures of the Wolperting Rumo who is destined to become the greatest hero of Zamonia. It's zany & #fullofadventure. #booktober
