What Would Google Do?: Reverse-Engineering the Fastest Growing Company in the History of the World | Jeff Jarvis
2 posts | 2 read | 1 to read
In a book thats one part prophecy, one part thought experiment, one part manifesto, and one part survival manual, internet impresario and blogging pioneer Jeff Jarvis reverse-engineers Google, the fastest-growing company in history, to discover forty clear and straightforward rules to manage and live by. At the same time, he illuminates the new worldview of the internet generation: how it challenges and destroysbut also opens upvast new opportunities. His findings are counterintuitive, imaginative, practical, and above all visionary, giving readers a glimpse of how everyone and everythingfrom corporations to governments, nations to individualsmust evolve in the Google era. What Would Google Do? is an astonishing, mind-opening book that, in the end, is not about Google. Its about you.

Ya'll 😭. I get the reasoning, and I know that all things considered I'm incredibly fortunate to be employed in this difficult time, but I don't know how I'm gonna survive another year of working alone from my apartment. Also low key regretting that I just signed a new lease in Brooklyn 😢

ju.ca.no Oh god, another year😱 stay strong🙏🏼 4y
DAB You got my sympathies. But Brooklyn is not so bad. Hang in there. 4y
slategreyskies I know what you mean. Hang in there. 🌻 4y

eanderson Oh my.... I‘m sorry. My husband just told me he will be working from home until at least 1/28/2021. 4y
Graciouswarriorprincess I am sorry. I understand! I am working from home until January. It is hard! (edited) 4y
MsMelissa I‘m likely going to be working from home until the New Year at the earliest, so I feel you. Can you have socially distant meetings with some of your co-workers? I‘ve had a couple in backyards, and it was so nice to see my favourite co-workers in person! I recognize this only works in warmer weather. 4y
swishandflick @DAB Oh I love Brooklyn, but now I'm thinking it may have been smarter to sign a short term lease somewhere cheaper to save money, since none of the "fun" stuff is open anyways. (edited) 4y
swishandflick @Book_Fiend_Melissa Most of my direct co-workers are working remotely from other locations right now so it's all over video chat unfortunately 😩 4y
BethM I get it! It‘s super hard! Reach out here-we‘ve got you. 4y
PurpleTulipGirl I really wish we‘d bought a house with a home office for me. Working at the dining room table for another year is getting old. Then again...I could go to my office, because there‘s usually nobody there, but then I‘d have to put on pants with zippers. 4y
TheLibrarian We are here if you need us! I‘ll be physically at work half my time and the other half I‘ll be working remotely even though the library isn‘t actually open. 🤷🏼‍♀️ But I also love being alone. 4y
j9brown I get it. Working from home alone in Queens. Every day feels the same, just working, taking walks, and looking forward to my next snack. Grateful for the job but I really miss my little social breaks. 4y
JennyM Thinking of you lovely ❤️ 4y
BarbaraBB That sounds horrible indeed. Way too long for any human being. Let‘s hope thing will get better long before that. 4y
MicheleinPhilly Oof. That is rough. Fingers crossed for this vaccine research. 🤞🏼 4y
