Wicked Charms: A Lizzy and Diesel Novel | Janet Evanovich, Phoef Sutton

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER Lizzy and Diesel are back in an all-new wicked adventure from Janet Evanovich and Emmy Awardwinning co-author Phoef Sutton. Before he was murdered and mummified nearly a century ago, notorious bootlegger Collier Peg Leg Dazzle discovered and re-hid a famous pirates treasure somewhere along the coast of New England. A vast collection of gold and silver coins and precious gems, the bounty also contains the Stone of Avaricethe very item reluctant treasure seeker Lizzy Tucker and her partner, Diesel, have been enlisted to find. While Lizzy would just like to live a quiet, semi-normal life, Diesel is all about the hunt. And this hunt is going to require a genuine treasure map and a ship worthy of sailing the seven seas . . . or at least getting them from Salem Harbor to Maine. Greed is eternal and insatiable, and Lizzy and Diesel arent the only ones searching for the lost pirates chest. People who have dedicated their entire lives to finding it are willing to commit murder or make a deal with the devil just to hold the fortune in their hands. One of those people may even be Wulf, Diesels deceptively charming and enigmatic cousin. Wulf desires the Stone of Avarice. He also desires Lizzy. Its hard to say how far hes willing to go to gain either one. Wicked Charms is a swashbuckling adventure full of raiders, monkeys, minions, and mayhem. Lizzy and Diesel are going to have to do everything they can to keep their heads above water and hope theyre living a charmed life. Praise for Wicked Charms Delivers what Evanovichs readers have come to expect: laughs, oddball situations, quirky supporting characters, and a dash or two of romance.Examiner.com

I‘m loving this series! Hysterical books that make me laugh out loud with ridiculous surprising humor. I hope there will be more to this series in the future!

So, I know Evanovich is most popular for Stephanie Plum.... But does anyone miss this series? I also miss the Knight and Moon series tbh. To me, these were better. Any one else? I wish there was more....

Trying to finish Wicked Charms today. I was going to start Circe next but a library hold showed up today. I had to pull out the big book of crystals for the eye agate and "Love is in the Earth" actually let me down for the first time. So I googled it because Google knows everything. ? @callunakeep

Also, the folder in the background my work folder with its Halloween background... And I couldn't resist PicsArt's Halloween brushes.

callunakeep Please be sure to tag me when you review Circe! 🤓. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! 6y

Going to call it so I can watch an episode of Sabrina before bed. Three books finished. Two more started.

SMayWrites We just finished watching Sabrina here! I love Salem! 6y
Maewyn I have only gotten to episode three. I was thinking last night though that they have to do at least one episode that really features Salem. While watching episode two I had my own (mostly) black cat peering over my shoulder.🧙🏻‍♀️ 6y

A paranormal cozy type series that takes place in Salem Massachusetts. I tried the first book in the series because it featured a character from the Stephanie Plum books but this Wicked series isn't for me.

vkois88 That's sad, I actually enjoyed this series. Not my favorite one though. 6y
mrp27 @vkois88 I really wanted to like it but too many books to read for something that's just ok. 😕 6y

Finished January 12, 2018.

Honestly, this book is only related to the first two by character names alone. The plot climaxed on page 185 but the book went on and on and on and on and on...... The only redeeming quality of this last installment was the #cat

#TerribleEnding

Hilarious!!! I absolutely love Janet Evanovich for mindless and entertaining reading. The characters are likeable and the plots are always fun. Highly recommended.

tpixie Sadly that‘s why I stopped reading her Stephanie Plum Books. I loved the characters, the slapstick humor. But I felt I was reading the same story each time with no character growth. I stopped at 18. The 1st 6 or so we‘re great. Nora Roberts‘ JD Robb Books seem to follow a formula, but there is some growth with the characters , along with great characters and storylines. 6y
Susanita @tpixie Yes! I was reading one on a trip when I saw a later one in the airport bookstore with pretty much the same story in the blurb on the back. Especially the Ranger/Joe triangle! 6y
tpixie @Susanita yes!! Some much potential... lost 6y

minkyb Agree with everyone on this @tpixie @Susanita @DarcysMom the trilogy idea would be smart! 6y

tpixie @minkyb @Susanita @DarcysMom speaking of trilogies- I‘ve read Nora Roberts Boonsboro Trilogy. I‘d love to go there for real! Her husband owns the bookstore and I think family owns the Inn and Pizza joint IRL. That would be a fun #LitsyMeetUp ! 6y
minkyb Can we pull it off? @tpixie It would be epic! 6y
DarcysMom @tpixie @minkyb @Susanita It would be super cross country epic for me! 6y

This book was a lot of fun, the hunt for treasure (The stone) and Lizzy's ability to stay relativity strong though some pretty harrowing situations, I do hope there are more of these books.

My bookmark was the best thing about this book. It was cowritten because she said she didn't have time to write it with the Stephanie Plum books. You could tell. The first two in this series are funny with an original and interesting plot. This book felt like no one cared much about it. While I would read the fourth one (if it's ever written) it's because of the plot promise and not because of this book.
