Dog Medicine: How My Dog Saved Me from Myself
Dog Medicine: How My Dog Saved Me from Myself | Julie Barton
At twenty-two, Julie Barton collapsed on her kitchen floor in Manhattan. She was one year out of college and severely depressed. Summoned by Julies incoherent phone call, her mother raced from Ohio to New York and took her home.

A heart tugging read about the author‘s struggles with depression and how getting her dog Bunker changed her life.

“Why didn‘t anyone ever talk to me about feeling down? Really down? Was this so shameful that it shouldn‘t be discussed aloud?”

An eye opening moment for Julie when she realized that if there was a drug on the market, then others had felt this way too.

Congrats on your litsy-versary, @DebinHawaii! You were one of the first people I followed here on Litsy and I love seeing your posts.

These are two of my favourite "things" - my boyfriend, Chris, and my dog, Harley. They both make the hard days a little easier, and put up with my shenanigans. #debsstack

Centique Aw that's so sweet! 7y
DebinHawaii Adorable!! Definitely can see why they are favorites! 🐶❤️ Thank you for the sweet words and Litsyversary love and for joining in! I'm happy you're here! 💜💜💜 7y

I love dogs but am definitely a cat person (we have three cats!). Tears streaming down my face as I finished this raw and touching memoir.

This was up there with Marley and Me for all the feels felt. Loved this book and her journey.

Felt for the character from the first pages. Couldn't wait to see how it turned out for her.

Today's ebook haul. I had already decided to get You Will Know My and The Hopefuls; Dog Medicine jumped out at me because my puppy saved me, a few years ago, so I'm interested to read someone else's experiences.

Notafraidofwords The Hopefuls is so so perfect! 8y
Reviewsbylola I am dying to get my little mitts on You Will Know Me and The Hopefuls. 8y
bookishkai @Reviewsbylola pretty much my only vices are books and yarn (and too many toys for my dog), so I figured that after a week wrangling a tantruming toddler I deserved some books I've been looking forward to :) 8y
