Bad Call
Bad Call | Stephen Wallenfels
8 posts | 6 read | 7 to read
It was supposed to be epic. During a late-night poker game, tennis teammates Colin, Ceo, Grahame, and Rhody make a pact to go on a camping trip in Yosemite National Park. And poker vows can't be broken. So the first sign that they should ditch the plan is when Rhody backs out. The next is when Ceo replaces him with Ellie, a girl Grahame and Colin have never even heard of. And then there's the forest fire at their intended campsite. But instead of bailing, they decide to take the treacherous Snow Creek Falls Trail to the top of Yosemite Valley. From there, the bad decisions really pile up. A freak storm is threatening snow, their Craigslist tent is a piece of junk, and Grahame is pretty sure there's a bear on the prowl. On top of that, the guys have some serious baggage (and that's not including the ridiculously heavy ax that Grahame insisted on packing) and Ellie can't figure out what their deal is. And then one of them doesn't make it back to the tent. Desperate to survive while piecing together what happened, the remaining hikers must decide who to trust in this riveting, witty, and truly unforgettable psychological thriller that reveals how one small mistake can have chilling consequences.

Pickpick

When 4 teens go camping they find themselves lost with no cell service, dwindling supplies & a snowstorm they aren't prepared for. As they struggle to survive, one thing becomes clear - the elements might not be their biggest threat. 4 went up - how many will come down? The author takes a more realistic approach, focusing on the characters & group dynamic rather than a kill them all approach. No complaints here!

I‘m always posting pics of my dog, because he is very jealous when I read (he has to sit right by me) but I can‘t resist #catsoflitsy posts and mine has his little paws tucked up under his chin (he‘s so fluffy, you can‘t see them). 🐱🐱

Clwojick He's part Maine Coon, right? He looks just like my old cat Bella ❤️️ 5y
Kappadeemom @Clwojick He‘s not as big as one, for sure but he is quite floofy. He is the sweetest baby. He actually hugs me around the neck in the morning when I wake up 😍 5y
Clwojick My Oscar is a sucker for hugs and kisses. 😻 He reaches up until I pick him up, then he sits on my hip like a koala. Ahaha. 5y

Kappadeemom @Clwojick awwww how sweet :) I hate when I hear people say that cats aren‘t affectionate. It‘s all in how they are raised ❤️❤️🐱 5y

Starting this ARC tonight :) #litsypartyofone

Tamra I like this cover. 5y
Aurora0044 Can I ask a silly question? What does ARC mean? 😂 5y
Kappadeemom @Aurora0044 That‘s not a silly question! An ARC is an Advanced Reader Copy, so a book that is given to “Professional” readers before publication so that we can review copies on social media/blogs, etc and get some buzz going for the book before it comes out! 5y
Aurora0044 @Kappadeemom That‘s cool! Thank you for clearing that up for me 😁 5y

Mehso-so

Finished this last night. Instead of an ARC, I was generously sent a finished hardcover! I finally think I‘ve come across a YA book that guys will actually like. It‘s set with mountain-climbing as the main activity (*I‘ll be doing my Goodreads review as well); the writer is big into the outdoors and mountain climbing and is set on Yosemite. Different from how I thought it would be but I finally have a book I can recommend to include male readers!

RaimeyGallant Great review. 5y
kamoorephoto @RaimeyGallant My proper one is on Goodreads...can‘t put it all here! 👍🏼 5y
