Mehso-so

Ian Fleming, I'm pretty sure that women have never smelt like a combination of freshly mown hay and sweet pepper, I can not even imagine what that smells like. That's some imagination!

This book is of course filled with the usual racism and misogyny found in the previous books but that aside there's something compelling about these, the ridiculousness of the plot I guess is enough to keep me turning those pages.

#Two4Tuesday @TheSpineView thanks a lot for the tag @The_Penniless_Author
1.A relative we barely know has come over to stay,at my parents',and I'm really worried because she's super careless about wearing a mask, and Covid precautions, and everything,so all I want for Christmas is for my parents to stay healthy!!
2.I stay in the tropics, so no chance of a white Christmas 😀I would like to see a White Christmas someday though!

Smrloomis Hope everyone stays healthy 🤞🏽! 2y

#20series20days @Andrew65 a long long time ago in a galaxy very close to where he still lives a teenage boy found a 2nd hand book shop where he would scour shelves and found these old pan books, he suspects they were lobbed by his mum when he went to uni (aargh). Anyway im sure they are not politically correct + may not bear rereading but they definitely formed part of my reading life. Gosh i hate thinking about all the books ive lost!!!

Andrew65 A classic, read a couple and enjoyed them. (edited) 4y

MsMelissa My husband is also a huge fan of the books. He‘s been binge watching all of the Bond movies and watching Bond-related documentaries the past couple of weeks. 4y

CarolynM I read them all at a very impressionable age, they've probably influenced my thinking more than I realize😂 There are some great editions here. 4y

"Morning, Armourer. Now I want to ask you some questions.‘ M.‘ s voice was casual.
‘First of all, what do you think of the Beretta, the .25?‘
‘Ladies‘ gun, sir.‘ M. raised ironic eyebrows at Bond.
Bond smiled thinly."

James Bond has to trade his beloved gun for a Walther PPK 7.65mm and save the world from Dr No who wants to #RuleTheWorld courtesy of help from the Russians. Tough break, Bond.

Dr. No | Ian Fleming

On this day in 1962 Dr. No launched the world-phenomena known as James Bond. For a long time Sean Connery was my favorite Bond but then came Daniel Craig. I know Bond is a sexist, womanizing jerk but he's still one of my favorite characters of all time - on paper or the silver screen.
