This is my haul from the #Ohioana book festival. I was very restrained (unlike @Mdargusch and @emilyhaldi 😂) I‘ve already read the Kahiki book but I know my dad would like it so I got a copy for Father‘s Day. I‘m most excited about Bob Batchelor‘s book. He may have convinced me to watch Mad Men. 😂

emilyhaldi Love all of your picks!!! I had zero self restraint 🤦🏻‍♀️ 6y
Chelleo LOL! Not a bad haul by any means!! Great meeting you IRL today! (edited) 6y
quietjenn Aw, the Kahiki and Lazarus - that brings back memories. 6y

Coleen Ohioana Book Festival? Details, please! 6y
Reviewsbylola @coleen I‘d never been before but it is a festival held today in Columbus with about 120 authors. There were also panels and discussions but we didn‘t attend any of those. We had an #ohiomeetup with littens beforehand organized by the amazing @chelleo! 6y
Reviewsbylola I know, we went to the Kahiki all the time. I‘d actually already read the book on it but I had to snap up the one about Lazarus for myself! @quietjenn 6y
Mdargusch Boy you were well behaved today. 6y
Reviewsbylola IKR?!?! When it comes to full price books I‘m very restrained. 😂😂 @mdargusch 6y
Cinfhen I know, full price is a real deterrent....I‘m curious about 6y
Reviewsbylola @emilyhaldi just bailed on it. 😬🤭😰 @Cinfhen 6y
Cinfhen Oh no! That sucks!!! 6y

#TBRtemptation post 3! In 1925, Fitzgerald produced his third novel to mixed reviews and lackluster sales. Over time, its popularity grew though. What makes it great? What makes it a book we still care about today? He explains why it's become part of the American ethos and how its many themes and components make it a rich gem for the ages. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎

IamIamIam It's great because I'm from Long Island! That paragraph about Nick getting on the drunk train out of Penn always makes me laugh!!! 😄💚🥂🚘 7y
elliemcc11 @Jess_Read_This are you aware of this book? 7y
Jess_Read_This @elliemcc11 I am! Batchelor seems to try to regurgitate what Bruccoli, Corrigan, and a few other critical examinations of Gatsby have stated with a twist on being sensational in offering some praise for the 2013 Leo DiCaprio movie that most agree was all Hollywood and not necessarily focused on the themes in Gatsby. He also speculates on Fitzgerald and Hemingway's friendship. The guy knows how to sell a book... lol. (edited) 7y
jenniferw88 @TrishB may be useful in the future?! 7y
TrishB @jenniferw88 definitely 👍 we've been having a good discussion tonight. 7y
