Queen Margot
Queen Margot | Alexandre Dumas
Released to coincide with the new Miramac film starring Isabelle Adjani, this is the classic novel unavailable for over 25 years. Massacres, conspiracies, clandestine trysts, secret alliances, daring escapes, sumptuous feasts, and duels of wit propel the action in this delightful story of French royalty during the 16th century. #royals. One is a book I loved as a teenager, one is a book I'm currently reading and not liking that much, one is a book I read recently and liked a lot, and the final book is one I have been dying to read and will get to this year. Can you guess which is which?

Pickpick

La Reine Margot takes place in the French Court of Charles IX (1572). It is full of intrigue, betrayal, passion... There's even a death by book! Alexandre Dumas wrote an engrossing tale. My romantic heart only wishes the love story was between people who were free to be together.

Today on Steph reads La Reine Margot: Coconnas really loves La Môle. The Duchesse de Nevers is feeling left out. (This is not really an exaggeration) Also thank you for putting up with my Dumas geekery; I promise I read other things too. ?

BookNerdBritt Haha, I feel I should issue a similar disclaimer for Harry Potter 😬 3y

And today on the adventures of badass noble ladies and the sword bros who love them... (Not really a spoiler. This is basic plot.)

"No family rivalry, no treachery in love; everything fair, open, and aboveboard! An offensive and defensive alliance, for the sole purpose of finding and, if we can, catching on the fly, that ephemeral thing called happiness." (When you're a Queen, but your best friend has your back because it sucks to be a woman in 16th C France)
