I like how there are goblins. And also giants. I‘m glad that at the end she sacrificed her to save everyone else.

TracyReadsBooks Good review Noah! Did you notice who was there are the end of the book? 6y

Ben Hatke writes, and illustrates, delightful stories. This one was donated to the library today and I know some students who are going to be super excited. Jack & Lily are off on another adventure, this time to rescue Jack‘s sister who was kidnapped by an ogre. They travel to another realm, meet some goblins, giants and their minions, run into trouble, have loads and loads of adventures, and then the ending...Fabulous & fun & another winner.

STRONG-STRONG!!! Okay, reading that took less time than expected. I loved it—probably would have to reread Zita (heaven forbid) to know which series is better. And that‘s another checked box for Read Harder too!

Ah, another Read Harder 2018 book (a comic written and illustrated by the same person). Huge Ben Hatke fan.

Apparently I‘m just knock all the graphic novels on Read Harder out of the way first? I look forward to ending the year with all the difficult crap I chose. 😵

This was such a fun follow up to last year's Mighty Jack. Fairytales with a twist but Hatke's effervescent energy and art make for wonderful reading.

Such an amazing graphic novel and that ending is screaming for a crossover with Zita. My fave graphic novelist by far is Hatke!

Got Mighty Jack and the Goblin King yesterday and immediately read it! I love this series and so does my 9 year old. I think I actually liked this a little more than book one.

Mehso-so

3.5 out of 5 stars

I liked the superbly bright and colorful drawings, but the story was just so-so for me. It's a twist on the classic Jack & the Beanstalk fairytale. I didn't realize this was the 2nd book in the series, so don't make my mistake and start here. I was able to follow along fairly well, but there were pieces of the story I didn't really get or understand the significance of because I didn't have the background knowledge. 📖

Tomorrow is my birthday and my hubby surprised me tonight with this awesome early b'day pressie- a new reading lamp. And it's so freaking cool! 😎I can pair my phone and listen to music through the lamp, do hands free calling, there are 4 lighting modes, a timer if I want to set into turn off after I fall asleep, even a charging port for my phone or iPad. 🤗💡📱🎶 I can hardly wait to try it out. 😁
