My god I want to high five Kay Scarpetta in the face! I think I actually hate her 🙃 She is the most annoying character I have ever come across in a book and I really don't know if I can carry on with this series. The obsession everyone has with her is just too much for me. Might try book 17 as it's a planned read for October but if it's bad I am bailing on the series 🤔

Just got the amazing promo package for Patricia Cornwall‘s new book Quantum and now I can‘t wait for the arc. Some of the best promo stuff I have ever seen. The question now is, with Cornwell and Koontz going to Thomas and Mercer (an Amazon owned publisher), does this signal a sea change for the industry?

Pruzy I hope it is not going to affect the ability of the major publishers to publish less popular, but more literary works that may not bring in much money. The last thing we need is the variety of books published to resemble the unimaginative monoculture that is cinema these days! 5y

I'm officially over the Kay Scarpetta series! These will leave the comforts of my bookshelf and find another reader who has enough patience for them. This was my first "grown up" series in crime novels and I'm happy I have read several of them but now it's time to move on and focuss on something more challenging. It' so refreshing to clean up the book collection from time to time!

AGirlAndHerBooks I used to love her Scarpetta books, far fetched as they were. I haven't read a new one in many years. Enjoy your purging! 🤣 7y

Martta @AGirlAndHerBooks Thanks! I know. I used to read a lot of them too when I was younger. I really liked them but now when I have read many different kind of crime books the characters of Kay Scarpetta series feel really thin. I read one of these awhile ago and couldn't help but compare that to the other series' and books I've come across and I feel like Scarpetta books are not for me anymore. 7y

Bedtime reading... #Scarpetta - I believe it's number 16 in the series and so far I had read only the first four but I really enjoy the set up and pace of this one!
