Two books that we're going to release at my daughter's primary school today.

RadicalReader @julesG I just now noticed these books were in a different language. How cool to have books in another language best way to learn! 6y
julesG @RadicalReader We're in Germany and so German translations are better. ? The kids have English in school but the most advanced sentence so far is: "I don't like red peppers, I like cucumbers." My daughter is bored in her English class. 6y
RadicalReader @julesG your English is absolutely wonderful I have noticed how similar German is to English found that to be incredible when it comes to a foreign language. How did you learn English? 6y

julesG @RadicalReader Thank you. Like most Germans I learned English in school, but I learned more about the real usage of English when I visited English speaking countries, watched TV and films and read books in English. To quote Hermione Granger "books and cleverness" ? 6y
julesG @RadicalReader English has Germanic roots, some words and phrases are pretty similar, some are miles apart. 😉 6y
AlaMich I've also noticed that your English is excellent and wondered how you came by it. As a (very) long-term student of Spanish and linguistics nerd in general, it always interests me how people learn other languages. 🤓 6y
julesG @AlaMich Thank you! Studying hard, practicing often, and a knack/ear for languages. It was, and still is, hard work learn a language, I still learn something new about English every day. I studied English at university, too. Linguistics was an eye-opener for me, it helped me understand a lot more about language learning. 6y
RadicalReader @julesG do you speak anything besides English and Spanish? 6y
maich The Book Fairies😍 Do you participate? I wrote post about iis on my blog last week. And I order stickers already. 6y
julesG @RadicalReader I don't speak Spanish, I might be able to understand written Spanish but only understand a few words of spoken Spanish, which is due to French. I learned basic Russian in school, French to a reasonably good level, I understand most Scandinavian and Germanic languages. I have a basic grasp of Latin and Italian (again, via French). Back to your question, I'd say German, English and French with multiple language sprinkles on top. 😉 6y
julesG @maich Yes, we are bookfairies. Saw some littens post about it months ago and ordered the stickers. 6y
maich @julesG So nice😍 I will become in 2018😊 6y

Pickpick

Ok....so I decided to give this MF series another try. I have changed my opinion on the Magic Treehouse series. Dolphins at Daybreak tell how Jack and Annie are on a secret mission for Morgan & they must recover an item by solving a riddle. They get to explore the coral reef & meet many underwater friends along the way. Of course they run into trouble. 3rd graders could do a marine animal research project #UCFWALTERSLIT

Brookegamble @jhudson I have heard from many different teachers that the Magic Treehouse series is a must for every classroom! I faintly remember reading them myself in elementary school but I was not too into them. I never thought of using them for a lesson but your link definitely gave me some ideas! #UCFWaltersLit 6y
Seans_h @jhudson I read the magic treehouse books all the time in elementary school. I find that although it is not much of an informative book, it should still be kept in the classroom for those who are not easily interested in reading. The link attached could be very useful in the classroom regarding creating projects/activities. #UCFWaltersLit 6y
lizzie0922 @jhudson I love love this series, I always used to check these out in elementary school. I really like the ideas on the link you provided 6y
marissa.s @jhudson I hear of teachers recommending these books all the time! I used to love these and when I went back to look for my old collection I was so sad to hear my mom had gotten rid of them. I would definitely want these books in my classroom and am keeping an eye out for them in stores! Thanks for sharing the link, I'll make sure to keep it for future reference! #UCFWalterslit 6y
