A Modern Way to Eat
A Modern Way to Eat: 200+ Satisfying Vegetarian Recipes (That Will Make You Feel Amazing) | Anna Jones
5 posts | 2 read | 9 to read
A beautifully photographed and modern vegetarian cookbook packed with quick, healthy, and fresh recipes that explore the full breadth of vegetarian ingredients--grains, nuts, seeds, and seasonal vegetables--from Jamie Oliver's London-based food stylist and writer Anna Jones. How we want to eat is changing. More and more people cook without meat several nights a week and are constantly seeking to push the boundaries of their own vegetarian repertoire. At the same time, people want food that is a little lighter, healthier, and easier on our wallets, and that relies less on dairy and gluten. Based on how Anna likes to eat day to day--from a blueberry and amaranth porridge, to a quick autumn root panzanella, to a pistachio and squash galette--A Modern Way to Eat is a cookbook for how we want to eat now.

sarahbarnes I still love the Moosewood Cookbook even though it‘s dated and I don‘t really use it anymore. I love the illustrations. 3y
Hooked_on_books What a gorgeous shop! But I‘d love to see some books in that window. 🤔 3y
Mitch @sarahbarnes I‘ve got a few I‘m super attached to they hold lovely memories. 3y
Mitch @Hooked_on_books it looks such a wonderful store! 3y

🎃 yes - lots of lovey trees, colours, shades and shapes
🎃I‘m looking forward to reading my birthday books - and touching base with the next instalment of a female Sherlock series I love!
🎃 I love the change of season - I get cravings for thick root vegetable soups and big Sunday roast dinners with Yorkshire puddings and lots of gravy!
#thoughtfulthursday

Palimpsest @Mitch you‘re making me hungry. 😊 3y
Mitch @Palimpsest it‘s cold and rainy here today - and the forecast for the weekend isn‘t much better - so might just kick off the Sunday roast season! 3y
MoonWitch94 Yummy! Sounds delicious 😋 Thanks for playing ✨🍂☺️ 3y

So ... I substituted peaches for apples, added in some cinnamon (and was a little heavy handed on the chia seeds🤣) and I‘ve got Bircher for breakfast all this week! I love Anna Jones‘s approach to cooking - it‘s very laid back and focused on what you might have rather than lots and lots of ingredients. Oh - and it tasted good too! #bfc

GypsyKat What a happy picture! ❤️ 5y
Mitch @GypsyKat thank you - sun was out this morning and I‘d gone to my morning swim lesson - felt good about actually eating breakfast and not just rushing to start the day. Trying to slow the mornings down a bit! 5y
Chrissyreadit Great picture and breakfast! How is the book? 5y

Mitch @Chrissyreadit it‘s great. She does double page spreads on salads, pestos , soups etc and instead of set recipes you pick on thing from column A, one from column B etc. Very adaptable and a great resource for quick mid week meals. I like her ( she also lives in my neighbourhood so I might be a little bias!) 5y
Blaire This sounds great! I‘m always on the lookout for easy vegetarian recipes! 5y
GypsyKat Taking time for breakfast in the morning always leads to a better day for me. Good call! ❤️ 5y
sudi Sounds yum 😋 5y
Chrissyreadit I have stacked it but now think it is very much something I would like! 5y

1- It has to be anything by Anna Jones. Simple combinations of a few ingredients that she makes taste insanely good. It‘s a weeknight no brainer!
2- err, no, it‘s a hotdog! So special it has a whole category to itself!
3- I so wish it could have been Anthony Bourdain... failing that I‘d go for Heston!
4- not sure I have one.... saying that, I do like cold baked beans straight from the can! But that‘s not weird, it‘s normal, right?

#manicmonday

JoScho Totally normal! I might heat them but i for sure sneak a few bites straight from the can before. 6y

Got this #cookbook for Christmas. Still haven't cooked from it. It has lots of ingredients I don't usually keep in my cupboards, but brother and sister-in-law swear by it so I'll give it a go at some point. I totally should have use Greedy Queen for #riotgrams today shouldn't I?!
