My faith in John Green has been restored. Bless this book. Bless it a hundred thousands times. My literal only issue was that it felt a bit rushed? Like the beginning? BUT THATS LITERALLY IT. THIS BOOK. UGH. I loved it. One of the better books I‘ve read. I know this is a short review, but this book was just so beautiful I don‘t think it needed a long review written about it.

I already love this so much more than TFIOS, and I‘m only 100 pages in.

So I hadn‘t heard much about this book before I started it. The thing with this book is, I fell in love with Sam‘s character, and there were a lot of remarkable characteristics about this book, but nothing just really stood out to me. Overall this book was pleasing and it didn‘t have very many heavy themes so it‘s a lighter read except for some scenarios (if you need triggers just contact me and I‘ll be happy to give them to you).

I really didn‘t like this book a whole lot. I don‘t know if it was because I went into it with such high expectations due to the hype of it or what. From beginning to end, the whole plot felt extremely forced. As the story progressed, it got better and better, and my adoration for Isaac grew to be greater than my heart could contain. Overall, this book wasn‘t amazingly written to me, and I just really didn‘t care a whole lot for it.

I‘ve never been a big historical fiction fan. But THIS BOOK ACTUALLY HAD ME SHOOK FROM START TO FINISH. Literally, in the same chapter, I would be laughing hysterically in the beginning and then sobbing my eyes out ten pages later. The plot throughout this book was phenomenal, it had so many beautifully executed twists and turns. I‘m actually in love with these characters. This may very well have taken the place of my favorite novel of all time.

This book is such an amazing piece of literature and it kept me on my toes the whole time. There were so many twists and turns that you never know what‘s truth and what‘s fiction. If you are one that is incredibly into fantasy, which a romantic undertone (as I am), this book would be an amazing read for you. It‘s such a wonderful piece of work, one of the best I‘ve read in a long time.

What‘s better than crocheting and being home with a great book?

So I was at this “Paint-Your-Own” pottery place today and saw a box that looked like a book and thought, “Well, what is one of the most simple cover designs I can think of?” I have to go back and finish painting it tomorrow because it proved to not be so simple but I think I have a pretty good start on it!!

So I went into this book with low expectations because I‘ve heard so many mixed reactions. Until 1/3-1/2 way through the book I thought my original beliefs were correct. However, once I got into the meat of the book, I was in deep in the story. I loved it. It lived up to the hype, but due to the writing style (which I didn‘t care for due to the extensive use of similes and hyperboles) and the way the beginning was paced, I give this book 4/5 ⭐️.
