This was an overall enjoyable book, despite a somewhat predictable love story. I especially enjoyed it because I got to see Brody talk about her writing process and I could are it reflected in the book.

I haven't been reading enough lately. But hopefully I'll be reading this soon, now that it's no longer missing (it's been sitting in my closet for nearly two months). Has anyone on here read it?

I liked this a lot more than I expected to. The writing style grew on me and I really liked the characters. I've heard that there's going to be a sequel, which I'll probably read even though it doesn't seem entirely necessary.

I'm always a bit nervous about books that have teenage detectives and ghosts simply because so many of them I've read lack originality. This one however, very good and I'm looking forward to reading more books by the author.

Not sure if I'm liking the writing style, but I've only just started so that could change.

This was a very cute and enjoyable read. I was rooting for Karma and Aaryn the whole way through and hating on Danny.

Everyone was right about this one! I loved it and it's one of my new favorites. I'm going to try and read His Majesty's Dragon soon too, since it also sounds amazing.

Molz I'm enjoying this a lot; although I don't read a lot of fantasy, this has great character elements. 8y

I'm reading this despite not thinking the first book was great, and I'm sticking to this one now even though I like it less. I guess it's a bit of a guilty pleasure. I don't really like Lily and I don't remember liking her too much in the first book either, but it's entrancing me anyhow.

A really nice bookseller at Mitzi's Books in Rapid City recommended these to me. I've been curious about both of them for a while too, so I'm really excited.

CaitlinSiem I loved Uprooted! It's a beautiful book. His Majesty's Dragon actually just showed up from my library holds the other day haha. Haven't read it yet but I'm excited to check it out, especially after how much I enjoyed Uprooted. 8y
annahenke They're both good!! Uprooted is definitely my favorite, but His Majesty's Dragon is loads of fun. Enjoy!! 8y
FourofFiveWits Uprooted was my favorite book I read last year. 8y

I'm liking this so far but I think I like A Monster Calls and The Knife of Never Letting Go just a little bit more. The little paragraphs in each chapter about the "indie kids" are fun to read as well.

I've been hearing a lot of good things about Brandon Sanderson for a while so I was really excited to read this. Luckily it didn't disappoint. It's not one of my all time favorite books or anything but I enjoyed it and I'm excited to read more books in the series and by Brandon Sanderson in general.

I couldn't stand most of the characters and the dialogue felt a bit lacking as well, but I'll probably read the next one eventually because I'm curious about the magic system.

BookJunkie429 I'm glad I didn't pick this one up. 8y
ShatterMeFangirl I was thinking about reading this because it reminded me of The Selection by Kiera Cass but I may not read it if it turns out to be a waste of time 8y

Whenever Violet does something like this it makes me cringe. She focuses way to much on herself, no one should have ever told her she was special.

I loved The Jewel, but this book isn't really living up to my expectations. Violet isn't acting very admirably and the characters aren't very relatable.

I tried to start reading this a while ago but it was too much for me. Maybe in a couple of years? I haven't read enough nonfiction to properly enjoy it at this point.

If you haven't read this book I highly recommend it. Not just because it's being made into a movie, but because it's one of the few books that have made me cry.

I know I'm in the minority here, but this book just didn't click with me. I much preferred Collins' other series Gregor the Overlander.

This is one of my favorite books of all time. It's got an interesting form of magic and a cast of some pretty awesome characters. Highly recommended.

Bookgirl Second strong recommendation for this book I've seen on Litsy. Better move it farther up my to read list! 8y
