Great book! It is a little slow in parts, but I love the characters and plot. Plenty of action, romance, and adventure. I plan on watching the TV show soon, as well.

This book opens your eyes to what the other side of the war is struggling to do. American history shows a very one sided story, but this novel shows the deep-rooted challenges the citizens, especially women, had to face every day. The loss, the destruction, and the power of friendship.

lucy_literati I loved this. Must read his latest... 8y

This novel will always be one of my favorites. Jane is such a complex character and it is amazing to watch her grow into such a fierce and confident woman. Mr. Rochester is a nice touch, too...

While I am not a fan of the story, Fitzgerald is one of the most beautiful writers that I have had the pleasure of reading. His language is rich and he loves details. While I did not enjoy the lives of Daisy and Gatsby, his other stories are incredible. Everyone should read at least one thing by him

People tend to skip over this book of Austen's and I do not know why. I believe all readers have the writing gene in them and this book explores the process of reading and ideas. Catherine and Tilney are two characters who do not need each other in their lives, but chose to be together.

CAGirlReading Thank you! I completely agree. It also is a slightly mocking indictment of gothic novels (a la Ann Radcliffe) which were popular at the time. Definitely one of her most underrated works... 8y
