Kiss Kiss | Roald Dahl

Pickpick

Great collection of dark and twisted short stories by Roald Dahl! Some stories gave me anxiety because you knew exactly that something bad will happen to an endearing character. Only one story ended with a horrible person getting exactly what they deserve.
I will be on the look-out for more of Dahls short fiction now.

Quite a #bookhaul for the first half of may!
The Tsokos book was borrowed from a friend, I found Before the Fall in a little free library and the other four books are from #bookcrossing ! Which means I didn't spent a single cent on any of them.
Have you read any of those books? Which should I start first?

My favorite read of this year so far was Astrotruckers by Mikael Niemi. A fantastic collection of short stories on life as an Astrotrucker and the quirky characters and places in our galaxy. If you like Douglas Adams, I can really recommend this!
It's too bad that not many of Niemis work has been translated yet. I would love to read more of his stories!

A beautiful and heart-felt collection of essays by former child actress Mara Wilson. She seems like such a genuine, awesome person and I really enjoyed reading about her experiences with stardom, growing up, OCD and being an artist.

These books will be travelling to my fellow #bookcrossing addicts next week!
I'm a fan of passing books on to new readers because they would just catch dust on my shelves.
Do you like to pass books on or do you prefer to keep them?
#bookstack

Best book in this stack was “Where am I now?“ btw!

Lindy Like you, I prefer to pass them on once I‘ve read them. Welcome to Litsy. 😊 6y
readinginthedark Both! I‘ll keep them if I‘m going to reread them or if it‘s a five-star book for me and I have it signed or a special memory attached to it. But most of the time, I pass them on after reading them. 6y

Mehso-so

This book sounded so promising but disappointed a bit. Karen, tiger mom and main point of friction, remained very flat. I would have loved more background, more history, but instead just a lot of things were hinted at and not really explained.
Also I really didn't like Noel, the husband.

Usually I don't expect much of YA books (been disappointed too often), but A Court of Thorns and Roses was actually pretty good!
The heroine, Feyre, actually had some character development (though what happened to her in the end was a bit rubbish), the love story was believable (no insta-love!) and the steamy scenes were hot!

TaylorMay The 2nd is my fave of the series and probably one of my top 10 overall ❤ 6y

Not really what the blurb promised... I hoped for a psychological thriller about a crazy mother, but it seems it's just a kidnapping story. We'll see how this goes on.

RaimeyGallant I hate when that happens. :) And welcome to Litsy! #LitsyWelcomeWagon Some of us put together Litsy tips to help new Littens navigate the site. It's the link in my bio on my page in case you need it. Or if you prefer how-to videos, @chelleo put some together at the link in her bio.
