This fiction picture book meant a lot to me when I first learned how to write my name. I was always the last to finish my name in Kindergarten and felt so bad about it often that my name wasn‘t like others. My kindergarten teacher Ms. Powell read this one day to me in our reading center and I loved it ever since💕 It‘s about a little mouse who too has a long name and learns to love it it‘s uniquess

HappyMaddy I love this story! Great tribute to a classic❤️ 4y

A Young Adults Action Adventure Fiction story about an unlucky teenager named Stanley who‘s sent to a boys camp to what seems to be the middle of no where in Texas after being falsely accused of a theft crime. Young adults can enjoy this Newberry Award winning book for IR or RA‘s after class sessions. #ucflae3414sp20

McKaylaH Loved reading this book! Perfect for a RA or IR. Great job ! 4y
DrSpalding You are still missing key aspects of the rubric. You are making excellent book selections however. This is a classic. This could be used as a literature circle option as well. 4y

One of my favorite Poetry Fiction book series growing up (made into a show on NickJr.)Madeline is a rhyming story of a Parisian little girl living in a Catholic orphanage with 12 other girls. Great for RA‘s and SA‘s. and can be used for UDL guideline optimization of relevance, value, and authenticity(7.2) For ESOL students I can share the video story read alouds and episodes. #ucflae3414sp20

DrSpalding What kind of fiction? Think of the time frame and reply with the correct genre. These books are excellent books to incorporate into the primary classroom as some students will have prior knowledge. They also expose students to another culture and location in Europe. 4y

My Pre Schoolers la la love this Caldecott Medal award winning Fiction book! It is humorous and engages the little ones during storytelling with the plot: a bus driver has to leave but doesn‘t have anyone to watch his bus so he reminds the audience - “Don‘t let the Pigeon drive the bus!”
#ucflae3414sp20

RaivionneC This book is great for UDL guideline increasing mastery-oriented feedback (8.4) and ESOL strategy of acting out the story by modeling the actions. 4y
HappyMaddy This book is a class, great idea to act out the story. A readers theater would be fun! 4y
Brennap Oooh this looks so perfect for the younger ones, I bet they would love to read along with it! 4y
DrSpalding You need to consult your genre flip guide. There are several different kinds of fiction that you need to know! I agree with Maddie that a readers theater could be fun and dramatic reenactment is a great idea as well. Make sure you clearly identify the teaching strategies you want to employ. 4y

I‘d mix this up by having students take turns in a choral shared reading activity with my future students to fit UDL guideline fostering collaboration and community (8.3). #ucflae3414sp20
