Abraham Lincoln | Ingri D'Aulaire, Edgar Parin D'Aulaire

Pickpick

This Caldecott winner shows the early life and childhood of Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United States. “Abraham Lincoln” is a B which depicts his life in the Kentucky frontier and him growing up to become the President. This book is perfect for children learning about Abe and his background. I would say this would be good for a PR. https://www.teachingbooks.net/tb.cgi?tid=11590 #UCFLAE3414SP20

McKaylaH UDL 3.1- Activate or supply background knowledge of Abraham Lincoln to see if students know about the famous President and give more information on him.

EL strategy #28- Provide biographies of significant men and women from different countries so they can compare and contrast Abraham Lincoln to other historical figures.
4y
DrSpalding Expand a bit more as to how you would use the resource included. English learner strategy 28 is perfect for all picture book biographies. There are many award winners in this genre that should be used to teach about historical figures. 4y

DrSpalding This is a classic. I believe the literature circle option would be best because there is content in this science fiction novel that needs to be discussed in order to be comprehended. 4y
