It is about 8 friends who are growing up fast in many different ways! I thought it was funny and really cute! Night of the Living Worms is a MF book written and illustrated by Dave Coverly. The book is a Sunshine State Young Readers book this year. This book is about a bird who can‘t live up to his brother! Goggles! Is a RF book written and illustrated by Ezra Jack Keats. The book is a Caldecott honor and is about the two boys who find goggles. These bigger boys approach them and try to take them away. The Girl Who Drank the Moon is a MF book written by Kelly Barnhill. It is a Newbery Award winner and would be a great LC in the classroom. As soon as I picked up the book I couldn‘t put it down! The One and Only Ivan is a MF book written by Katherine Applegate. It is a Newbery Award winner and is a great book for SR in the classroom. I absolutely love the way the book is written. It is based on a true story and written from the view of the gorilla. Ivan doesn‘t really think much about his living situation until Ruby comes along. #ucflae3413f17

Falling Up is a collection of poems and drawings by Shel Silverstein and is an ALA Booklist Award winner. I picked this poem as one to share because I think everyone can relate! I think all scales would tell us to eat some pancakes! This book would be great for teachers to demonstrate choral reading. This is a NF book about the dinosaur Stegosaurus. It is written by Elaine Landau and comes from a whole series about dinosaurs. It talks about what they eat, where they lived, and how they became extinct. I turkey found this book interesting because I knew nothing about this specific dinosaur. Wonder is RF book written by R.J. Palacio. I think this would be a great IR book for anyone. I really enjoyed reading this book and going to watch the movie!! This book is about a little boy, Auggie, who is born with a facial difference and so many people judge him. He is going to be mainstreamed and is worried about what might happen. Sparky! Is a RF book written by Jenny Offill and illustrated by Chris Appelhans. It won the Charlotte Zolotow Award for the best picture book text published. The book is about a little girl who wants a pet and her mom said it needs to be low maintenance, so she gets a sloth mailed to her. She tries to teach him tricks and impress her friend. I am Helen Keller is a B written by Brad Meltzer and illustrated by Christopher Eliopoulos. This book comes from the best seller series of Ordinary People Change the World. I absolutely adore these books and enjoy reading them! I think this would be a good RA book to share with students to learn about important people in history. It is a Newbery Medal winner, Caldecott Honor, Coretta Scott King Honor, and a SSYRA Jr. book for 2016-2017. Gone Crazy in Alabama is a HF book written by Rita Williams Garcia. It has won a Caldecott Medal and is the third book about sisters Delphine, Vonetta, and Fern. The sisters go visit their grandmother and great grandmother in Alabama. The Man Who Walked Between The Towers is a Biography written by Mordicai Gerstein. This book is a Caldecott winner and is about a man named Philippe who walked between the towers in NYC. Him and his friends snuck up there in the middle of the night and got the line ready to walk across. He was walking when people noticed him and the police tried to arrest him. Grace for President is a RF picture book. It is a great book for young readers to help them understand the election process. I think it is great for a readers theater in a classroom. Having students understand our history is also very important and to recognize what has happened in the past. I would love to add this book to my classroom library. #ucflae3414f17

This is a TL story told from the view of the wolf. This was the first time reading this book and I absolutely loved it! I loved how the wolf was the one telling the story and how everything was just a misunderstanding, he was only trying to get some sugar. I Survived is a New York Time Bestselling Series. This particular book is about the Japanese Tsunami that happened in 2011. This book is HF and is seen in a lot of school today. A little boy and his family go to Japan to visit their uncle. A few days in an earthquake hits and is later followed by a tsunami. The little boy is separated from his family, but is later reunited. Ada Twist, Scientist is a SF book. It is about a little girl who is so curious about the world around her and she is always asking questions and doing science experiments. I think this book is a great RA so teachers can show it is important to ask questions and learn about what is happening around you. Three sister are sent to California to visit their estranged mother. She sends them to a Day camp run by the Black Panther Party.
