Messes with your mind. As soon as you think you get it, you don‘t.
Oh. My. God. By the time I got done with the first two chapters, this book had its claws dug in deep, I couldn‘t put it down! I recommend reading this book at the same time as a friend, there are so many emotional twists and turns in this novel that you‘ll need to talk about with someone, especially the ending..
The novel captures romance, war, monarchy, deceit, revenge, friendship, love, and much more. A very satisfying ending, which I was thankful for because it is a stand alone. The plot is based on the Persephone and Hades love story, which it‘s retellings I have recently become obsessed with! Also, if you finish the story but find you are not finished with the magical world, there are more books by Elise Kova that are based around this kingdom!
I just can‘t get enough of Stephen and Elena‘s epic love. All of the tragedy, suspense, thrill and romance packed into this plot make the books very difficult to put down. It was interesting how the second half of the book was told through Bonnie‘s POV; keeping things fresh and interesting. Can‘t wait to read the next one!
I initially read this because of the Netflix show, but I was very surprised at the few comparisons that the book and show had. While, at first, I was biased toward the show, once I got a few chapters in I instantly fell for the plot (which is a better one than the show, in my opinion) . And I‘m also a HUGE Stelena fan, and the books have more of that.
So, I think if I had to choose between the books or the show, I would have to choose the books!
Usually it‘s difficult for me to pick up a new book with a plot I‘ve yet to dive into, but this book, with the characters and their relationships with one another, really took me for a spin. I‘ve come to find that the books with the biggest plot twists are the ones that I can‘t seem to put down!
The depth of Bella and Edward‘s love for each other was better portrayed in this book than to the original twilight series. A beautiful love story that will never get old. Still hoping for New Moon through Edward‘s perspective!
I didn‘t think I was going to enjoy a book from the Twilight saga with little to no Edward in it but, to my surprise, I enjoyed this one better than the first! I was especially shocked from the amount of detail Stephenie Meyer was able to add into the already deep plot. Would 100% recommend.
Vicariously living the heart throbbing love life of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen is something That will stay with me even after I‘ve closed the book. The dangerous romance has kept me on my toes and I can‘t wait to read the next book in the series.
This book was so emotionally exhilarating!! The first and only book that has ever made me cry. From the family drama to the innocent friendships and heartbreaking losses, this book is one to read!
