LOVE love love this book! So thought-provoking and really makes you reflect on if you would open your box or not. This one follows each character through each chapter and the connections were really special. One of my favorites so far this year!

I like books that switch characters from chapter to chapter, but this one was a hard listen with so much trauma and tragedy. Don‘t skip the acknowledgments, it has some interesting historical context for many of the daughters.

I listened to this one read by the author which I‘m glad I did because I felt like he read the characters exactly as they should be. I would‘ve like a little more depth in this one but it was a good mindless listen.

A fun book where I didn‘t have to think too hard and could enjoy the heists with a good twist. I read about their trip to Paris while I was on the way to Paris which was a treat!

I needed this palate cleanser after reading Verity, and as the title suggests, it was the perfect book to read while I was sitting on the beach. I was very invested in January (and Gus), and her relationship with her father. I really appreciated the friendship with her best friend, it felt so real!

There is too much to say about this book without giving any spoilers - I‘ll just say that I see what all the hype is about! It‘s not my typical go-to type of book because I‘m very sensitive to this kind of suspense, so I read it on vacation knowing I could finish it quickly…and read it in two days!

This was a fun, easy read while I was on vacation. I thought I had the entire book figured out in the first 50 pages but there were several surprises I didn‘t see coming that made me keep turning the pages.

Loved this book! Especially the father-daughter relationship and the 90s throwback references. What a fun take on time-travel.

This book could be hard to read at times, but is an important story to tell and be heard. Adunni‘s strength and value of education is inspiring and I hope my louding voice can be as positive as hers!

Super fun and quick read! I found the friendship between the two women very odd, but realizing it was written by a man makes more sense now. But Lillian‘s relationship with the kids was heart-warming!

LOVED this memoir about the mother-daughter relationship. Michelle is completely honest and vulnerable, and I flew through the audio book as I hung on every word.

I listened to this audio book alongside reading The Paris Library. Getting perspectives on the war from two different countries really helped educate me on what was happening all over the world. Mildred was really an astonishing woman who accomplished so much yet we know so little about her.

I like when stories trade between characters, and this one did both that and went back-and-forth between the timelines of the protagonists as well. Would definitely recommend as a historical fiction of WWII

Michael Schur is hilarious and I loved listening to the audio book. Be prepared for it to make you feel like a horrible person.

I was fresh off watching The Gilded Age, so I was super curious to learn about this family we‘ve never heard of. I thought it was a fascinating true story about this woman who had more money than I can fathom, but only ever desired to remain anonymous, which is always the opposite of what we‘re used to with rich people!

I‘ve been on a kick of money embezzlement-type shows (ex. Inventing Anna, Tinder Swindler) and this was on-brand with those but made those examples look like child‘s play…total amateurs. Still amazing to me how people like them can do what they do at the age that they do it! I listened to the audio book and it sounded like a podcast or research paper which isn‘t my favorite but I needed to know the pay off! Pun intended.

Liked to concept, but ultimately ended up disappointed with the protagonist. I always love a strong female friendship which felt like the saving grace of the book.

LOVED this audio book. I laughed out loud the whole time and now so appreciate Colin‘s work ethic when watching Weekend Update. Gotta love a self-deprecating author for the sake of the joke.

This was a fun, easy summer read (audio book) after a few more serious and intense novels. Poppy is a fun and quirky character that I enjoyed getting to know and made me laugh.

LOVED this book! It‘s a great book for audio - you really get the feel for everyone‘s personalities and I felt super invested in all of the characters. One of those books that you‘re disappointed when it‘s over, but that means it was a great one!

I found it too predictable and a little frustration with the protagonist, Azere. It seemed like she was meant to be a strong female lead but several times I felt she wasn‘t the strong woman I wanted her to be.

I love the way Emily Gordon writes, but often struggle with her female lead characters that to me seem weak. It‘s an easy and fast read but I was disappointed with Cecily the entire novel.

Lsmoore43 I really liked this book. I know what you mean though.

I compared it too closely to Educated and Hillbilly Elegy, which I both LOVED, so it wasn‘t quite as good but I did grow to really like and respect Sarah and her family. Gotta love a good underdog story!

Not my favorite Jojo Moyes book, but beautifully written. I loved that the story centered on women characters who were strong and relatable - maybe most relatable in their flaws.

It took me a long, long time to get through this book, and I think it truly could‘ve been 300 pages and had the same effect. I asked friends who had read it if it would pay off, and was told it “picked up.” I agree I don‘t know if it necessarily paid off for the amount of pages, but definitely picked up and took unexpected turns. Overall, not sure if I would recommend it to others.
