I have no problem with audiobooks. I listen to a lot of Horrorbabble on YouTube but I don‘t consider it reading. It has introduced me to new authors and some classic horror I had no idea existed but I won‘t mark what I‘ve listened to as a book I have read. Thoughts? Opinions? #audiobooks #audible
Vacation ending sucks but coming home to this gem made it a lot easier. This is from Easton Press the complete fiction of H P Lovecraft leather bound, gilded pages, 22 karat gold inlay. This is an incredible edition and stands as the crown jewel of my Lovecraft collection. #lovecraft #eastonpress #booknerd
Here I am comparing two different versions of The Portrait of Dorian Gray
I can‘t believe it took me so long to get around to reading this. There is a reason this book has withstood the test of time. I‘m not going to say it is perfect there were a few dry bits that went on a little too long, mainly the chase towards the end, but as a whole this was a fantastic read.
I‘ve been slowly picking up the volumes of this complete #williamhopehodgson set. If #Lovecraft was the “father” of #cosmichorror then Hodgson was the grandfather of cosmic horror. Anyone into classic horror or seafaring horror should look into his work.
Oh the sin of writing such words, words which are clear as crystal limpid and musical as bubbling springs words which sparkle and glow like the poisoned diamonds of the Medicis! Oh the wickedness the hopeless damnation of a soul who could fascinate and paralyze human creatures with such words words understood by the ignorant and wise alike , words which are more precious than jewels more soothing than Heavenly music, more awful than death itself.
Of the seven short stories most were really awesome but a couple left a bit to be desired. Overall I recommend this book to any science fiction fans, philosophy fans, or fans of House of Leaves
