My second book by this author. I enjoyed this one more than the previous one I read. The ending was a bit rushed though and I didn‘t love that

Not usually my thing but was intrigued to read this after hearing a review. I really did enjoy it. It‘s great to see these stories written from a woman‘s perspective. I will definitely be reading the next one

This is another book club choice and I did overall enjoy it. I felt that it was a few chapters too long and I got a little bored. The characters were good and I liked the writing style. Overall I scored it 4/5

I was very keen to read this given how much I enjoyed The Appeal. This was a good read but it slightly fell short for me. I think it could have been concluded about 50 pages earlier

I was very keen to read this having heard such good things, plus it was shortlisted for the women‘s prize. Overall I really enjoyed this book. It was easy to read with a good cast of characters. What let it down for me was the lack of written diagnosis that Martha is suffering from. That made it slightly unrelatable

This was actually my pick for book club and I wasn‘t all that impressed with it sadly. I just couldn‘t warm to the story or the characters and it‘s taken me a very long time to read as a result

First book by this author and it‘s a book club read so I ploughed through until the end. For me the first 50 pages were pointless and another 100 could have been removed to make it a more fast paced read. The story was too flat for me and very predictable. I wouldn‘t read another of hers
