Do Donkeys Dance? | Melanie Walsh

This book was good. It shows children what animals can an cannot do. For example it says that a turtle can't leap, but a kangaroo does. The ending was cute and unexpected. #ucflae3414su17

DrSpalding Cute book for preK-K students. Proof your work and be sure to thoroughly summarize the book and include the required resource. 7y

This F book is funny! I would definitely see this in my classroom library. This book can used for story telling, or even plays. I couldn't find a link to attach so those are some suggestions. #ucflae3414su17

DrSpalding This is F but also a variant of TL. Fun squirrel characters! Be sure to include the required web resources! 7y

This F book is entertaining and the ending was a shock! If mosquitoes don't bite ninjas I would convert into a ninja in a heartbeat. #ucflae3414su17

DrSpalding What a cute variant to the original TL! Be sure to add a resource to compliment this book as required in the rubric.🙂 7y
DrSpalding Sorry! On second thought this is not a TL variant. I was thinking of Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People's Ears! 7y

This is an amazing read! I felt a lot of emotions throughout this book. This is a book that children and adults should read. Melody will really take you through the ups and downs of her life. This RF will keep your eyes glued. Here's some activities that will help you incorporate this book in the classroom: https://www.scholastic.com/teachers/blog-posts/kriscia-cabral/teaching-out-my-mi... #ucflae3414su17

Angiepuc This was my lit book and I absolutely loved it. I got all my younger sisters to read it too. I loved how angry they were when they saw how mistreated Melody was. Defiantly a must read. 7y
DrSpalding There is a great deal of love for this book. Draper would be thrilled! Notice your peers have found multiple resources on the web to utilize this book effectively in your classrooms. 7y
SamanthaPuglisi Everyone seems to love this book, I want to read it and see what it's all about! I added to my "must read" stack. 7y

This NF book was is good to teach children basic math. I believe that children will be amazed but the size of the animals in this book! I thought that it was an okay read though. Here is a lesson plan that can be used: https://www.brighthubeducation.com/lesson-plans-grades-1-2/128829-2nd-grade-meas... #ucflae3414su17

Angiepuc I loved the illustrations in this book but I agree the content can be a little bland. 7y
DrSpalding Math and great books! What a fabulous idea. 7y
SamanthaPuglisi I love this book! It is so great for teaching children math and science concepts. And it's interesting to see everything in actual size! 7y
casandraopont @Chanelamber this book is an experience! It was so great comparing the sizes when I was reading this text. I loved running my hands through the textures. I can only imagine how much more exciting it will be for children reading it. Thanks for this year. 7y

Mo Willems is probably my favorite author/illustrator. I truly love Trixie's personality and how her parents always come to the rescue when she has misplaced her Knuffle. This book is an amazing RF and here are some helpful activities that can be utilized in the classroom: http://www.pigeonpresents.com/teachersguides/knuffle_teachguide.pdf #ucflae3414su17

Jerricajay I love Mo's illustrations! I also really like your resource, and how it has discussion topics for a wide variety of topics, from examining the plot to understanding emotions and illustrations. 7y
DrSpalding Woo hoo! Go Mo! Use his books and this resource in your elementary classroom! 7y

This F is a great book for children that are learning about good eating habits. I like this book because the wonderful illustration as well as the ending. Here is a link that will give you idea on how to use this book in the classroom : https://www.scholastic.com/teachers/lesson-plans/teaching-content/very-hungry-ca... #ucflae3414su17

Angiepuc I LOVE this book. It's such a simple concept but young children love it. I've also seen classrooms do a cool readers theatre with the book 7y
DrSpalding High quality read aloud, storytelling and as @angiepuc noted, a readers theater too! This is an excellent book to integrate into your science curriculum. 7y

melissaallam Love that this short book covers so many content areas. Anytime math AND science can be incorporated into an entertaining story for children it's a win. 👍 7y
Diana_S This will forever be a classic! I remember this from when i was younger and everything from the art to the writing had me reading the book over and over again! 7y
StefanieS I love this book, i remember reading this book as a kid! During my service learning I saw a classroom with colored in caterpillar since they had just read the story, and the students were so excited to tell me why they were colored the way they were. 7y

This book was okay! It (of course) reminds me of "Pet the Cat". I believe that it teaches children about size, how to share and how to turn a negative situation into a positive one - all in a subliminal way. The next time I read this book I'll try to find the song that goes along with it (if there is one) - maybe then I'll like it more! #ucflae3414su17

Angiepuc Eric Litwin is my author I'm doing my book boost about! I love all his Pete the Cat books and I'm excited to read this one (since I'm a dog lover) I also enjoy how all his books have a lesson to be taught. 7y
DrSpalding I agree with your so so comment. Litwin is famous for Pete the Cat and I'm not sure that Groovy Joe can compete with that beloved character. Time will tell.🐈🐕 7y

This was an amazing read! I found myself laughing at times. I also appreciate the illustration - the characters were animated;however, the background/scenes were real places. The love that Trixie and Sonja had for their Kunffle Bunnies were great, also the love that their fathers had for them to wake up at 2am to complete such a task shows how much they love their children. I will definitely be adding this to my book collection. #ucflas3414su17

Ashleywwolfe I don't know if I've ever seen a book illustrated in the way you describe! I feel like I have to buy or rent this just to see what your talking about because it sounds super engaging! 7y
Angiepuc I love Mo Williams but never heard of this book, I will definitely be putting it on my must read list. Just from the cover the book looks interesting since it's half cartoon and half real. I think kids would really enjoy the different illustrations. 7y
DrSpalding Be sure to add a website resource! Now I believe you are reading the first one as well. Enjoy! 7y
