Pickpick

This was a fun and quirky story: Tuesday, a woman in her 30s, and her gay BFF encounter a wealthy man who dies shortly after their first meeting, leaving a widow, a trail to clues for them and others to follow to reach a vast treasure...and also an unsolved murder.

One of the worst, #weirdestbooks I've ever read. The only thing I liked about it was the cover, which it doesn't live up to. Could have been clever and funny, but wasn't. #weirdbook #novemberland #day13 #ugh

Maude Too bad, ❤️ that cover! 7y
Bette It is such a good cover, bummer. 🙁 7y
rubyslippersreads @Maude @Bette I know--I bought it for the cover. 😠 7y
Hobbinol That really is an awesome cover! What a shame! 7y

I knew that Levithan's style of writing is different and kind of weird from other writers but this one was super weird and I kind of don't know what to think about. Well, still it was a nice chance to meet my favourite characters from Will Grayson, will grayson. :) #lgbt #weirdbook #davidlevithan

My #weirdbook. A vintage Christian book about the dangers of Satan. Added bonus: anti-Satan workshop handout used as a book mark. 👹👹👹 #somethingforsept

I never would have chosen this #weirdbook on my own but thanks to Barnes and Noble and their "blind date" display, I brought this oddball home...and I love it! It's my first of Fforde's work and I can't wait now to read the others! #somethingforsept #septphotochallenge

RealLifeReading Love this series. I got to interview Jasper Fforde quite a few years ago! 8y

Here's my #weirdbook pick today. The Castle in the Forest, narrated by a literal demon masquerading as an SS officer, gives a fictionalized account of the childhood and adolescence of Adolf Hitler. From what I understand, it was supposed to be the first in a trilogy exploring the evil of Hitler, but Mailer died after finishing this book. A weird tale, strangely told.

MrBook Oh wow! Mailer's great. Added! 😊👍🏻 8y
ApoptyGina69 @MrBook grab this up when you get a chance. It was really good. 8y

I read many unusual / disturbing books so judging what counts as weird is kinda hard but the description for this one definitely threw me: "They come to New York from an isolated town in the Canadian wilderness. Captivating and elegant in their top hats, tails, and bustle skirts, the highly intelligent dogs with artificial voice boxes and prosthetic hands become instant celebrities." ??? #somethingforsept #septphotochallenge #weirdbook

So when you find yourself laughing your ass off with a book that deals with abandonment, child abuse, depression, rape...that would be considered a #weirdbook, right? #septphotochallenge #somethingforsept

My pick for a #weirdbook, not a lot of picks but I liked it.
