pickBook 2 of this series finds several local deaths by poisoning and suspicious they may be connected. Mallory uses her current day knowledge alongside the tools present in Edinburgh past to try to solve it. I‘m really enjoying this series so far and look forward to the next book!
pickThis is the 2nd book in a series about a female detective who is transported back in time to 1869 Scotland. Catapulted into the body of a 19 year old housemaid to a medical examiner, she ends up being his part time assistant. This is a wonderful combination of my two favorite genres, historical fiction & mystery, with a whisper of romance. I found it to be an easy & entertaining read. I do recommend you read “A Rip Through Time“ first though. 4/5
pickThis was such a cozy read. I enjoyed the author‘s discussion of periodical archives at the end, too. The mystery was relatively straightforward but plenty of red herrings to keep you guessing.

pickI've had this on my shelf since 2005. A Victorian holiday mystery: when Sir George Braxton is found face down in a frozen pond with his head bashed in, Inspector Witherspoon is called in to solve the case. Only the help of his housekeeper, Mrs. Jeffries, and her staff will allow the inspector to have a peaceful Christmas. A fast and fun read along the lines of a Christie mystery. I may now have to read all of them.

pickThis was fun, light, fluffy. A good historical mystery that's not at all demanding with a dash of romance and feminism. I did like the "agony aunt" aspect to the story, though perhaps it does reveal that this is more of a pastiche with modern sensibilities. It reminded me a bit of Deanna Raybourn's Lady Julia Grey series, which I also enjoyed. I read this for the cozy mystery prompt for #CloakAndDaggerChristmas @Ruthiella
pickThis is the first book in a cozy Victorian mystery series. I liked that each chapter began with a question to and answer from Lady Agony. I also liked the hint of romance brewing and the MC‘s aunt-in-law. Overall, I enjoyed it, but there were moments that either I wandered (totally possible) or the story did. #SeriesLove2023

pickYes, my dad was back in the hospital for a couple days. This book kept me company. I loved how fun it was...whilst being peppered with great characters and mystery. This is the first book in this new series. If you like cozy mystery reads you'll want to add this to your list!
