I once joked with my favorite junior class about being “Crabby Abbe.“ One lady replied, “Oh, we love you, Mrs. Abbe.“ When I asked why, she answered, “Because you keep it real. You don't bullshit with us.“ (yep, that very word!) I am grateful for all of us to speak truth to power and to fight every day to keep our democracy. 💙✊🏻💙

Butterfinger While reading my last book, "How?" and "Why?" kept going through my mind. I live in a hate-consumed society. I can see how genocide can happen again. I can see why it can happen. I thank God that the hate is not a part of my soul, that I am able to fight the hate, and I am raising two girls with my values that every person deserves dignity and respect and protection. 7h
