The book, as always, was soo much better. But god damn. Anything that can make my brother shed a tear is golden in my books! #staygolden Definitely my favorite book ever.

Sarah1960 One of the books I read when I was in middle school. It was one of the books that fueled my love to explore all worlds and social status. It is still my go to book when I need to get past a reading slump because it reminds me of where books can take you. 5y

I love this book so much. I could barely put it down. I was crying during the whole book it's emotional and inspiring. Must read. #outside #staygolden #ponyboy

AlaMich The Outsiders!! As a teenager I named my cat Sodapop because I was in love with Rob Lowe ❤️! It was sort of embarrassing explaining that to people the older I got, though. 7y

I read this in maybe 8th grade and haven't read it since so 35 years later....here I go again. Ya, I'm old 😕 lol

EvieBee Sodapop and Ponyboy! I haven't read this since 7th grade. That was...20 years ago. 7y
Debiw781 This book made me feel old when my nephews read it in middle school ... and I realized how long ago it was when I first read it 7y
melrailey I do wonder how this one holds up over time. Probably about 25 years since I read it. 7y

Iamlisa22 I read this back in the early 80's for school! Loved it so much that I had all my girls read it So I got to relive it with them ❤ ( their school no longer has it as a required read😩#staygolden (edited) 7y
Abby-J I wonder how I would feel about it, now. I remember having a difficult time relating to the boys when I read it (more than twenty years ago). 7y
Bostonmomx2 @Abby-J @melrailey I'm 70 pages in (almost half way...it's short!) and it's so good. It definitely reads like a novella, I'd be interested to know why she wrote such a short book but it's definitely good. It seems to take place during my parents high school era and has a "Grease" feel to it so it's fun in that sense, something I never would have even thought about in 8th or 7th grade. I so wish I had my reading list from then. 7y
