The Nightingale | Kristin Hannah
post image

My sister and I started a summer book club and these are our picks: she picked Little Fires Everywhere, I picked The One, she said isn‘t there a historical fiction about sisters? I said yup, The Nightingale and it‘s on my TBR! Then I picked Into the Drowning Deep. We settled on the name for our club: Books for Phychos™️ I couldn‘t be more excited!#sistersthatread #sisterbookclub #summerTBR

LeslieO So fun! 4y
Elizabeth2 How fun!! I love the name. 😆 Enjoy your summer of reading together! I‘ve been in a book club with my 3 BFFs for over 22 years and we have never given ourselves a name. I think we need to rectify that! 4y
Soubhiville That‘s great! I love the name too. 😂 4y

AllieLovesBooks @Elizabeth2 that‘s amazing! Absolutely you need a name!! 📚 4y
AllieLovesBooks @Soubhiville Thank you, after much debating I sent that one and she immediately agreed. Lol 😂 4y
Pogue Is such a good book, but I hear it is part of a series 4y
AllieLovesBooks @Pogue You‘re right there is a prequel, I love Into the Drowning Deep so much so far. To me it‘s a perfect book! I love anything to do with the ocean and science and mythology! 🌊 4y

Up next, @Ireadkidlit Have you started it yet?
Miss you! #sisterbookclub #MountTBR

Mdargusch This is one of my favorite books! I‘m listening to Flavia #8 right now! 6y
Ireadkidlit Today I begin. This week was a bum kicker with too much to do and the first round of crud sweeping through the school 😷. But I‘ve been listening to The Girl with all the Gifts” while I reshelve. Good-ish, so far. 6y
Julsmarshall I‘ve heard good things about that one. Keep me posted! 6y

Pickpick

I have been wanting to read this one for forever, since it sounded exactly like my cup of tea: Tudor history with a magical twist, Princess Bride humor, and a plot out of Shakespeare. And it totally delivered! It's a fun but not frivolous read, as the humor compliments the plot and characters.
A lively magical adventure, with a romantic side doesn't feel too cheesy, and just a dash of (obvious historically inaccurate) history.

Pickpick

A humorous, clever, and well-written look at the mess of succession post-Henry VIII, with strong character voices, totally twisted history, fun romance, and just the right amount of magic. My Lady Jane is a delightfully inaccurate historical romp, brought to life by a pack of witty, self-aware narrators.

The quickest 500 pages you'll ever read.
